Watch the show from the beginning of episode 1 until episode 19, timestamp 27:15 (when the male lead (ML) and the female lead (FL) are on a rock, facing the sun, and screen fades to black - stop watching).

Then jump to episode 24, timestamp 3:42 (when the ML and the FL are walking on a bridge/walkway over water) and watch to the end.

The suggestion above will hopefully give you the best, happiest, and most consistent version of this show.

This is a school/youth drama that is worth watching for the beginning parts because they are SO GOOD, but unfortunately I think it's also one of those cdramas where the ending arc is ruined by horrible writing.

The stuff I think you should skip is absolutely pointless, feels like a completely different type of show, and makes the ML seem so out of character.

My personal rating for the show is 9.25/10 if you follow the above suggestion.  If I were to include all the episodes, I would give this a 6.5/10.

May I ask what happened with the episodes that we should skip?

Obviously there will lots of spoilers here, so be warned....

Even after reading the spoiler parts below, I still recommend watching the parts I suggested because those parts are SO GOOD.

- Main problem is ML is suddenly a different person.  He was communicative the whole beginning of the show, then suddenly he goes away and never bothers to contact FL.  For TEN YEARS!!!!  He has access to email.  He has access to text messaging.  He can do videochats.  No contact.  For 10 years!

Was there a good reason for it?  NO.  It was all because his mom was sick and family had to go to a hospital in a different city.  SO WHAT?  Never heard of long distance relationships???  He couldn't just call her and tell her why he had to move?

So then he comes back and says "I'm fulfilling this 10 year promise we made" (hence the title of the show) and they live happily ever after.

It's so dumb.

- Another problem: the annoying second FL gets even more annoying, but the worst part is, at the end, everyone just forgives her.  That's also ridiculous and unrealistic.

- In general, the parts you're skipping have a completely different tone than the light and fun parts at the beginning.

Thanks for the input. Would definitely watch this suggestion. After watching this, I’d probably try to rewatch the other skipped episodes and fast forward on scenes.

Yes!  That's a good idea.  Watch "this version" first, then check out the skipped stuff afterwards to see for yourself what was missed.
