Stopping after ep 6 since comments said that ep 7 is a cliffhanger :D
I will wait until next episodes air to continue.

So far this drama is entertaining and LYX is so fine. JJY is doing ok but I cannot help but think that there was some miscasting. ZHHZ, who played the original Yang Cai Wei, has more of a FL presence and to me, she acted better. She seemed to have better chemistry with the ML, too, even though her screentime was limited.

The story is good and I hope this is the one to get me out of my drama drought.

  I was saying this to some friends too! I believe we're in the minority of the female lead, but I absolute adored ZHHZ as the first YCW. Her scar was so unique and really spoke of her survival.
  
  She has stolen the show for me. She's a guest star, but I absolutely adore her character so far. I wish the drama writers could have woven the story to keep her as the female lead. "In Blossom" absolutely missed out on a great opportunity in being able to tell a story where the female protagonist is able to achieve so much because of her heart and intelligence, despite her physical features of an "ugly face". And how progressive and lovely for a drama to show a male lead (who already has deep feelings for her, and they truly have wonderful chemistry in the scenes they're in together) who loves the female lead truly for who she is beyond the physical features, scar across her face be damned. How beautiful would that be to have such a feminist story of a female lead whose face, shunned by society, still is a heroine in the own right? But nope, the drama falls into the awful stereotyping at the end of the day, where the evil girl is ugly and the beautiful girl is the good one. That's just sad. I hope the stars align for this actress so she can play a leading role one day.

  Agreed. Especially because of the prominence of beauty standards nowadays, one of the messages of this drama being how inner beauty matters the most would have been nice. ZHHZ is honestly still super pretty, even with the scar. Hoping she gets a good lead role soon since I've also loved her in other dramas.

  That is such a good point! I was really rooting for the first YCW because despite her scar, she was confident and plucky. Plus the ML adored her and emphasized inner beauty. Together they were already solving cases and doing good.
  
  ZHHZ completely overshadowed JJY for me which is a shame. I am still enjoying the show but not completely enamored by it. Had they followed the storyline you proposed, I think it would have been such a unique and amazing plot!

  @Gracie Yesss. Everything to what you said because it would be quite a breath of fresh air to go against the beauty standards by showcasing this story of how it's truly interesting beauty that matters. But the drama sadly took this away. I too adore ZHHZ here, and this is my first time watching this actress. I think she looks striking with her scar and wished the drama ran with this for her. We'll see how the rest of this drama pans out, but I do enjoy the plot so far too so I might stick to it despite the change of the actress.

  But... the main point remains: inner beauty. Because Pan Yue loves Yan Cai Wei with the face of Shanguang Zi, not because of the face, because he discovers day by day (that inside her), it is the Yang Cai Wei he knew since he was a child, never forgot, looked for her for 10 years and always said she was the only one for him. In episode 7, this feeling of his becomes explicit at the end of the episode.
