Not so old, but there was a lot of great stuff in the 80s and 90s.

Ozaki Yutaka is the obvious one, a legend of Japanese rock.

I also recommend The Blue Hearts.

Recently I've been getting into 90s hip-hop, check out Da. Yo. Ne and Konnya Wa Boogie Back by EAST ENDxYuri and Sucha Da Rappa respectively.
