Little Silva:
I do like the look of the manhua. I also like the extra detail in the novels. My concern is that almost everyone who reads the novels say they cried their eyes out and I'm not sure I am ready for that emotional rollercoaster. I just don't want to miss out on the best parts.
If you're reading with a focus on TSJ / YaoJing, I feel like the drama has almost all of the most devastating parts covered, so you wouldn't be getting a tonne of new emotional devastation... if that makes sense. Although some of the most brutal scenes (like the fight between TSJ and TSH and also some of the ways that XY deals with her grief after TSJ's "death") are more drawn out in the novel.

Little Silva:
I also heard some of TSJ's scenes in season two were given to other characters and I want to know which ones those were.
Maybe start with just reading chapter 36 of the novel. Ideally you'd read a little bit before and a little bit after that chapter, too, so you get the full context of how TSJ saw what XY needed at that time, played an important role in helping her get what she needed, and did so even though he was taking a big risk. IMO, the way the drama handled that mini-arc shortchanged TSJ's role and some of the changes (e.g., having CX third-wheel the romantic scenes and having CX and XL, but not TSJ, bow to the portrait of XY's parents in the drama) are definitely among the drama changes that TSJ fans have criticized the most.
