I had to wear hard contacts because I have astigmatism with keratoconus but when I moved to south Florida from Colombia for some reason because of the humidity they got stuck on my eyes and it was a weird sensation so I stopped using them 

Ouch. 

But yes, this sort of stuff scared me off early.  Plus, I'm such a klutz, that I can't count the times my glasses have saved me from putting my eye out.
