I rather be a villain than someone who doesn't have any self-worth, but hey some girls dig that.

 Elise:
omg I used to like Zorro (Antonio Banderas version) too.

Another Zorro fan!

 Elise:
Westley from The Princess Bride is another one of my favorite masked men. Even though that movie came out way before I was born, it's one of my comfort movies and I watch it from time to time to make me feel happy.

One of the rare instances where I liked a book and its movie adaptation pretty much in equal measure.

 Elise:
Ella Enchanted

Loved the book! The movie is fun, but not a faithful adaptation of the book.

Time for my most beloved gif:

If you can, try to keep with all of them.

Idk how you keep up with them all.

 nathsketch:
The other one in this LYF page is more academically inclined, with lots of great discussions about the novel.

lol this description.

At least XL thought XY had great archery skills, she could protect herself, and Jing too! lol. Okay okay, I'll stop now!

Ha

If I ever finish going through the thread I should get some kind of certificate lol.

There must be  scientific explanation for the Zorro phenomenon.  It can’t just be a coincidence :)

The Princess Bride is an absolute treasure, and yes, both the book and the film. So rare.

I only watched the movie, but it was a long long time ago. I remember liking it but eh, not my favorite. I may need to watch it again.

But seriously, Zorro is too cool. The mask also helps.

Maybe there’s something to do with masks. Hmmmmm

I don’t either. The way this little dude took over my life smh

It’s very academic, I need to grab my backpack every time I enter that thread. Get my pencils sharpened and everything.

I don’t know about a certificate, but you’ll surely be receiving a copy of…

THE LIST.

No spoilers. Be patient. It’ll be worth it.

The dual identities of the seemingly useless noble and his extremely competent and fierce fighter alter ego.

The one who does the most but doesn't take the benefit of the credit.

The dashing all-white or all-black ensemble (including weapons, mask, hair colour, and animal sidekick / transportation).

The commitment to act according to his principles and not take the easy way out.

The one-man-army / underdog who keeps winning despite impossible odds thanks to his exceptional skills and by outsmarting and out maneuvering the enemy.

I loved the book and was so excited when I heard it would be adapted into a movie. I think I would've liked the movie a lot more if I hadn't read the book. It's decent for what it is: a light rom-com / musical version of a cinderella story with a slight twist.

I remember watching Ella Enchanted as a kid and thinking Cary Elwes was handsome and my mom said "He's not that handsome anymore. He's old now" LOL. Watching that movie made me discover him and made me watch his other movies like Princess Bride and Robin Hood.

So funny

I know right Antonio banderas was just 🤌🤌🤌🤌

There you go. You got this down to a science :)

Academically inclined indeed.

This is usually what sort of ruins the experience, high expectations are a bummer.
