When I saw this scene, I started to waver.

I was very on board at first, but this...hmmm

The weakness started to show so early in the story. Dude legit turned his fluffy tails and vanished. Not a good look.

This would be a recurrent theme throughout the drama. Imagine ending up with such a man.

NOPE. But when you have issues, I suppose anything is better than nothing.

He broke his promises. First, he told her he'd help her deal with Cang Xuan. Then, when she looked back he disappeared. 

Shi Qi was silent. Xiao Liu glanced at him “Will you help me?” Shi Qi nodded....

Xiao Liu knew Shi Qi was behind her and if he blocked for Xiao Liu then he could see what type of powers Xuan had and poison him accordingly. But Shi Qi didn’t step forward and when Xiao Liu looked back the corner of the room was empty and Shi Qi was gone. 

Secondly, he made that promise to her that if she waited 15 years, he'd give her back Ye Shi Qi. Nah, Jing you broke your promise and married Fang Feng Yi Ying.

“Xiao Liu….I……I know I am engaged and have no right to say this to you…..and I never dared to….but…….I will call off the engagement, I will call off the engagement! You wait for me for twenty years….no…..no, fifteen years. You give Tu Shan Jing fifteen years, and after fifteen years I’ll give you back a Ye Shi Qi.” 

Thirdly, he promised XY he'd come back quickly after visiting Qing Shui Town and the wedding would go on as planned.

Before departing, Jing wrote a letter to Xiao Yao telling her that he needed to go to Qing Shui Town and explaining why. He assured her not to worry since he was safely guarded, and would be returning to Qing Qiu quickly. 

And he didn't come back since Hou greatly injured him and he was put in a coma.

Plus, he's a weakling who couldn't beat his brother. He had Fang Feng Yi Ying save him at the last minute.

I'm sorry, but I can't get along with people who write this kind of thing:

We do get really intense and enthusiastic in the Harvard thread with our discussion and interpretation. Interpretations that are based on the text written by Tong Hua. We don't just make things up out of thin air. We do over-interpret and split-hair (we're just nerdy :-)), and we do acknowledge that. The ladies over there are not claiming that their interpretation is 100% the correct one; most YaoLiu shippers are also not interested in negating YaoJing. More importantly, we are not prone to personal attacks on the morality of  YaoJing shippers the way that it had been done to us. 

I like and enjoy the things that I do. Other people are free to do the same. It's just fiction; there for some fun and stress relief. Like I said:

That makes so much more sense than the common English translation I see around which is...

Also I believe liddi is correct because I read the literal word for words Vietnamese translation and it matches exactly with hers... And there Google translation of the text matches much better....

I have a crazy idea... Let's do a kick starter project for @Liddi to translate whole book for us and to make it worth her time... I am serious....
