nathsketch:

Please! I want to roast Elena. It's the one Jinger I can roast to my heart's content ahahahahaha

Well it looks like my old ones got overwritten :D

Maybe the ones Elena made after XY became the princess again are still there.

The comments are very entertaining

"You're supposed to wait and say that to her when you first make love to her"

"You're body is a treasure? s-s-sirrr :0 "

"He looks like her blood is ecstasy to him"

"I see a hickey mark"

"Turned into a hickey xD"

 HeadInTheClouds:
I know that people see things differently and YaoJing's fans obviously don't see this as an issue, but I'm really curious to know what their reasoning/take on this major point of Jing's character. I don't venture into the YaoJing thread, so can some of you ladies enlighten me on this point?

If I was still a Jinger, I would say he's the one that got to XY first and saved her body from the fire. Like XY, some people find it admirable if their lover died with them instead of living on without them *barf*

LMAO ahahahahahaha

Let me add to this perfection of a gif you choose.

I wish there was a feature on Viki which showed all the comments we made. It's hard looking through them all. Some of the comments others made are kinda annoying ngl lol.

That would be awesome! Sorting through comments is tiring.

Yesterday I saw that there's a person on Viki who writes in a very similarly unintelligible and vulgar way just like a Jinger we know here. Maybe it's the same one. Yikes.

LOL!

Dude, it's a metaphor!

At least the others seem to get it. ha!

One of my favorite lines and scenes.

 nathsketch:

He should read some audiobooks. Pure ASMR hahahahah

Even if I couldn't understand it, I'd totally buy an audio version of the book Lost You Forever if Tan Jian Ci read it.

 HeadInTheClouds:

The Love My Voice set up looks like it's an older male lead, with a young, naive female lead. If not done well, it could come across as paternalistic- not something I personally like in my romance.

I also find, Wang Chu Ran more interesting in terms of look and "vibes" compared to Zhou Ye.

This will be TJC's first romantic lead role. Hopefully, it will be a success for him.  The problem won't be his acting,  but whether ther plot can sustain interest and if there is good chemistry to carry it through the 30 something episodes if the plot is weak.

Hmmm.  I didn't see it that way, but yes, it the usual 'older man and younger woman' trope.  It can work, but like you said, it very easily can fall into the worst aspects.

I don't think Wang Chu Ran plays many young naive women.

I hope it will be a great success for Tan Jian Ci, so it will open more doors for him.  Watching one clip, I can see why he may have picked this role, as the voice dubbing aspect is different and right in his wheelhouse.  I think there's also a virtual world / game aspect too.

Yes, the plot.  I was wondering how they were going to go 33 episodes, if there's no angsty obstacles.  But then I saw all the other people in the trailer.  I guess we'll be getting their romances too.  I can see I'll be fast forwarding a bit.

Imagine that?!

Imagine that?!

Toes curling.

I don't know why Tong Hua hasn't tried to get Tan Jian Ci to do it.  Maybe after Filter.  Actually, I don't know why Tong Hua herself hasn't done an English translation of Lost You Forever.  I mean, she speaks English, doesn't she?  I know she lives / lived in New York City.  Or at least try to get an English translation.

Yeah it’s about time this novel got translated in English. It’s becoming very famous now. I want to read it but I don’t really trust the translations online.

 nathsketch:

I'm somewhat concerned about this. I wonder what the plot is. All these clips are super cute but will they be staring at each other during 33 episodes? People usually complain a lot when the plot is Jing. I mean weak.

 MengXiang:

Woah. That's too long for modern romance.... I can only take about 20-25. I do better with fantasy.

I am also happy if people just make nice gifs for me to look at to be honest. Hint hint wink wink

I didn't even realized that it was that long, but I agreed that 33 episodes are a lot. That's the problem with many of the modern C-romances: paper thin plot, padded out with fillers and secondary characters. Given what she saw from the trailer, what will be the conflict that can keep the story going for 33 episodes?  I've noticed lately that they are getting more frequent and explicit with the intimate scenes in C-Drama; maybe we'll get endless kissing scenes to pad out the plot :-)

Fingers and toes crossed for TJC's sake. I'll give it a shot, whether I stick with it remains to be seen. Maybe with a lot of fast-forwarding :-)

 nathsketch:

LMAO the comments on those pics of That Other Dude™ with a white wig saying he would make a good Xiang Liu. Well, it would finally make me happy with his ending LOLOLOLOLOLOL

I did see comments that Deng Wei could have played Xiang Liu, but that JTC wouldn't have been able to pull off Jing.

Look, this suitability thing is tricky. However, between the two, JTC is, objectively the stronger actor. I think he could handle the acting side of things. Maybe it's the way that I see Jing - furtive in his calculation; struggles between living up to his gentlemanly image and his real, calculating/weak self - so I think a stronger actor might have been able to add some nuances to him. Like how JTC didn't just play Xiang Liu as blank-faced and cold.

I find DW's Jing a bit one-note; there's a strong emphasis on the "perfect, elegant gentleman" who's super devoted (in this case weepy :-)), but not much else. But people who like Jing probably don't see him the way that I do and maybe the production team wanted this particular Jing, so the casting worked out perfectly in the end and Deng Wei did his part well.

 Elise:

I'm wondering if I should post the comments my evil twin Elena made. Absolutely clown behavior.

Do it, Do it, Do it! nathsketch already showed us her dark past, it's your turn now.

You're amongst friends here, we won't hold it against you ;-). You'll just need to keep those gifs coming as penance

We debated on the other thread about the source of "devasted power". I argued that it was Xiang Liu, but I can see how Tong Hua would want Jing to have this because otherwise, Jing's role in this entire incident showed how useless he is. She would want to salvage the final ship - so can't make the "romantic lead" too pathetic. But even this credit is rather begrudging considering the whole sitting there waiting to die part. Sometimes I question how much Tong Hua actually likes YaoJing given the way she writes Jing's character.

The whole thing with keeping her body safe from burning is bollock - I gave him zero credit for that. He could have gotten her out of there (then died), but he didn't - but he'll protect her body??? For what purpose, so she'll look pretty in the coffin?? If CX's people hadn't come in time, they would have both burned to crisps anyway. So he "unintentionally" helped to save her, but wants acknowledgement and praise? Intention matters.

And the whole wanting to die with her thing!!! OK, I can see how that could be a sign of devotion etc. (for a sick person like XY), but HE DIDN'T EVEN DO THAT. He thought she was dead so he gave up and willingly burned to death with her. Why didn't he just die afterwards instead of lying around for 37 years until XY came back to save him??  He loved her so much that he wanted to die with her, but when the time came to follow through, he failed. Hmm, that's actually quite in character for him, isn't it? Big promises, zero action!! If I was XY, I'd be questioning how much this dude actually loves me and how much I can actually rely on him.

Am I being too harsh on Jing?? Or maybe he makes it too easy :-)

I feel like this post belongs to the other thread. My tendency to write War and Peace reared its ugly head again.

The YaoLiu fans showing their "lewd and lecherous" side, again :-)

Be honest, besides Elise and nathsketch, which one of you ladies is over at Viki, leaving these kinds of comments???
