This may have gotten slightly out of hand.
I wanted one place where I could actually answer questions like:
“What’s a high-production mature romance?”
“Give me a fluffy 24-episode drama.”
“What are the best e-sports romances?”
“I want slow burn + great chemistry + minimal angst.”
So I ended up compiling 545 Chinese modern romance dramas from 2018 onward.
Scope: standard-length dramas only — roughly 30–45 minute episodes.
So no short-form/vertical mini-dramas.

The production tier is separate from whether the drama is actually good.
I ranked production value based on budget/platform backing, cinematography & visual language, production design/locations, styling/wardrobe, and cast/star power — not writing or MDL/Douban scores.
I also tried to stop lumping every modern romance together, so the list separates things like youth/school, workplace, mature adult, medical, entertainment industry, e-sports, gaming, sports, BL, fantasy/high-concept romance and more.
