I can list you all Japanese movies I've seen if you want :D okay here it is Most of Kitano movies (I recommend you to go on wikipedia since not all of his movies are listed here on MDL) Battle Royale I and II (not horror, but lot of blood is involved) Crows zero I and II Azumi I and II Beck Drop Aoi Tori those ones are tv-movies but still very good :D Kaze no Shounen: Ozaki Yutaka Towa no Densetsu Kasha

I have seen a few.. but to recommend them hmmmm.. Closed Note Chonmage Purin Bandage-A lot of people didn't like this movie, but I did, there is just something about it.. Taiyo no Uta Nana 1&2

Crying out love, from the center of the earth is one of my favs.

Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru is also a nice movie.

Nada sou sou, cute one.

Solanin should be a must watch, me loved it.

Spring Story, is not really a movie, but a special. The Ost is great and the story is wonderful.

Usagi Drop, is soo realistic in my opinion.

Love Letter 1995 - my favorite romance from japan/ performance is realistic
Memories of Matsuko - my most favorite but not romance per se/ but quirky/drama/comedy/strange/adv
Battle Royale - think ikigami but has action/ but it isnt gorefest...it has depth...^^
Kisaragi - quirky/comedy
Love Exposure - adventure/drama/comedy/suspence
Nobody Knows - drama/slice of life/based on true story
Ring - ignore its horror^^
Seven Samurai - its oldies but best slice of life samurai era
Yojimbo - same w/ seven samurai...or zatoichi
Audition - ignore its horror

Confessions - drama/suspence/strange...stylish
Cyborg She - quirky/romance/comedy .... so fun
