Quantcast
SPOILER! in king of baking kim tak goo, the lead guy likes the lead girl for many episodes, but in the end he falls in love with the second lead girl, but the second lead girl is not the character you are looking for, she is always a good girl, but i think this drama fits what you are looking for, because of its ending it was a very unique drama, because i really didnt think that he will start liking the second lead girl
Some of the really soap-y or makjang stuff might be a good place to look. The only caveat is those shows are focused on soap opera style drama and families a lot more. Like for example - I seem to remember one involving a milk company. It's run by a family but once the patriarch dies the family and golden boy son get pushed out. They eventually rebuild with their own company and struggle to do it. You think he's going to end up with the leading lady and nope. He ends up getting married to the 'second lead' (more of a side character with little screentime but I liked her) who has been pining for him the whole time. But it was really rushed, at the end of the show and not focused. It wasn't a forced marriage but I thought she deserved more screentime to build a relationship.
The only drama I can think about is "Over the Rainbow" because the girl who gets the main lead appears like in episode 6 or something like that, she is not there since the beginning. And the main lead likes another girl at the beginning
It doesn't count but I like the other female lead in I hear your Voice lol

Both of them are so pretty @_@

Edit* nvm, ignore my post, I misread your post OP, sorry

Edit 2* In any case, it will be hard to find what you are looking for. Even older Japanese "harem (normal or reverse)" dramas with 2nd lead (or not-lead) winning is pretty rare.

Unfortunately, your best chances are looking for novels maybe?
I would say The K2 with Ji Chang Wook and Song Yoon Ah  they have really good chemistry and I was high-key rooting for noona relationship
Ah sorry everyone the character is "Do shin young" not shin do young from monster hahaha.

and thanks for the replies ill look up some of the stuff you all discussed

I summon you gold                                                                                                                                                                                  wang 's family                                                                                                                                                                                           on air                                                                                                                                                                                                                 monstar

the one i can think of is "I summon you gold" the male lead Park Hyun-Soo doesn't end up with the female lead Jung Mong-Hee but ends up with her twin sister (plays actually  by the same actress) and the female lead is alone at the end. thers's also enjoybla sides stories in this drama and its also about brotherhood.

On air Oh Seung-Ah played by kim ha neul and Lee Kyung-Min  played by park yong ha are the main leads Lee Kyung-Min ends up with the second lead female  Seo Young-Eun played by the song yoon a the main leads were never a couple but had a lot of interactions that made the second lead jealous.

another one played by actors a little old but still had its followers it's the couple in "wang 's family" Wang Soo-Bak and Ko Min-Joong are the main couple of this weekend drama but wang soo bak mistreats her husband and doesn't valorize the family she has with him so they will get a divorce and he will start a new family with his first love Oh Soon-Jung (i really liked this couple especially the daughter he didn't know he had with her Koo Mi-Ho  )

Monstar the main female lead ends up with the second male lead and the first male lead sun woo at the last sceen gives a feeling that he started to think about the second female lead kim nana that's head over heels for him.

if you are interested in  other coutries series as a male lead and second lead female  there's a brazilian serie  "a força do querer" jeiza and Zeca, a turkish "Aci Hayat " Mehmet Kosovalı  and Feliz.

Okay I get what you are looking for! The exact thing that yellow is ...it’s a web drama! Yes the second lead wins...and you’ll love it! And thank you for mentioning doctor stranger  because I’ll go damn down with my ship...well I did...in the middle of ocean typing this****ocean of my own tears ???? over our failed ship*** anyway tell me if you need the link to it

You know, I was thinking about this one a lot since it is a pretty unique request and yeah, sometimes the "nice female lead" vs. "evil second FL" thing gets old pretty quick. I don't have exactly what are looking for, but I think you might like:

1. Master's Sun: here, we do have a bratty second female lead who does get her happy ever after. It's not with the main male lead lead, but it IS with a guy that she liked who liked someone else and didn't like her until the end.

2. Cinderella's Sister: as the name implies, the drama itself takes a reversal on roles where the main female lead is the mean one (aka broken from a tragic past but puts on a hard shell) and the second FL is the sweet, naive one. The caveat is, the main male lead sees right through the female lead's cold exterior and likes only her. Still, it's a nice drama if you are sick of the pure and oblivious female lead trope. The reason I really like it is because I feel like it's more real; people who have damaged pasts aren't going to be smiling and happy-go-lucky.  Also, it finally tells the story of the overlooked and overused "evil" second female lead.

I want to see that too , since the SF always prettier than the MF esp in kdrama

So yeah i prefere the looks over  cuteness that k drama promote it over sexual appealing woman coz in Asian culture  hot woman is always a fox (bitch).

But if SF is faking her bad manners  as a defensive mechanism like Jee in kluen cheweet that is sth i really would enjoy

In “the wife’s lies” the brother of the female lead was dating/in love with the sister of the male lead the whole time..but for some reason he ended up marrying the other girl who was head over heels for him..they weren’t the main couple but the other girl who we thought didn’t stand a chance got the guy!

 Knavery:
Some of the really soap-y or makjang stuff might be a good place to look. The only caveat is those shows are focused on soap opera style drama and families a lot more. Can you remember the name of the drama? Please!

Queen of Reversal - FL ends up with 2nd ML(park shi hoo) , & 2ndFL ends up with the ML, just before half the series duration the 2nd ML(park shi hoo) takes over as the ML, This drama is the best thing you can ask for.

You know all those dramas where the leads fake date in order to make their exes jealous so they can get back together? Well in She's Dating the Gangster the ML actually gets back together with the SFL, marries her, and has a kid with her. I was shocked. Two caveats though: the FL tells him to get back together with the SFL (because the SFL was ill - she only broke up with him in the first place because of her illness - and "needed him more") and the ML and FL meet again at the end of the FL's life (she also secretly has an illness, of course) and they never stopped loving each other. So not a total victory for the SFL.
