Drama with strong romance from my list

Hey drama friends! I'm in the mood for a dramatic kdrama with focus on a strong emotional romance between the main leads, maybe a love that cannot be or something like that. Can anyone recommend me one, preferably from my plan to watch list if there is one? If no then any other would be great :) Thanks!!

Omo, you have a lot of great ones on your list! Here are the ones I really enjoyed and would recommend: Nine: Nine Times Time Travel City Hall The World That They Live In Que Sera Sera - a roller coaster of emotions, but good & it fits your bill of 'love that can't be' ... I see you have Lovers in Paris on your list. This is the first in the Lovers trilogy from my favourite romance drama writer. My recommendation is that you skip the first 2 dramas in this series (Lovers in Paris & Lovers in Prague ... which are not very well written, imo) and go straight to LOVERS! It is absolutely the best of the series & features a deliciously angsty romance with LOTS of GREAT sexual tension. It suits the 'love that can't be' theme very well. Always is a great Movie with a good love story - one of the few k-movies I like. as for a drama I would recommend Save the Last Dance for Me (not on your plan to watch list) but it has a really strong love connection in it starring: Kim Eugene and Ji Sung from your pland to watch list I would recommend Can You Hear My Heart? I personally love this drama (some like it and some don't) all depends on what you like or if you like the actors or not. there is also an older drama called Romance starring: Kim Jae Won and I supposed you could call it a forbidden love that works out lol, since he is a student and she is a teacher and they are 6yrs apart in age...

I see you have Lovers in Paris on your list. This is the first in the Lovers trilogy from my favourite romance drama writer. Those 4 are DEFINITELY on my list. I think Que Sera Sera and Nine: Nine Times Time Travel are my next ones, depends on the mood (action/melo...).
I have a funny story with City Hall. I've been wanting to see it for a long time now but I can't see a drama while I'm still effected by one with the same leads.. so at first it was The Greatest Love which made me delay watching it and now I'm still recovering from Scent of a Woman (OMG!) which I didn't realize had the same lead actress! So soon enough I'll watch that one too..

BTW, I see you're watching Secret Garden. How do you like it so far?

Well I liked Operation Proposal because Yoo Seung Ho was willing to travel back in time so he could get the girl. Right now Beyond the Clouds is airing. The love storyline between those two is pretty good. The only problem is the girl is really weak but other than that Yoon Kye Sang and Han Ji Hye have good chemistry playing the two leads.

Nine is a good 1st choice, I say go for it! :) However, I'd recommend you try The World that They Live In before Que Sera Sera for the mere reason that it gives you what you want (a drama with strong romance), but it's a calmer drama than QSS. Not that QSS isn't good. It is, but it's such a roller coaster ... it almost killed me with anticipation when I first watched it. My nerves were totally fried, I tell yah! haha

Ok, save City Hall for later. You'll be happy to have such a fun drama to look forward to! :) Cha Seung Won & Kim Sun Ah have absolutely MAAAD chemistry!!! I suspect you'll enjoy this quite a bit even if politics bore you (like it does me). Just don't throw in the towel too early. One thing you should know about Kim Eun Sook dramas is that the romance (when the characters admit they're both in love with each other & stop bickering) doesn't happen before the midway point (from ep 10 & onward) in almost all of her dramas.

As for Secret Garden, yeah I'm enjoying it even though I'm by no means a Ha Ji Won fan. However, Hyun Bin & Yoon Sang Hyun (Oska) make this totally worth it. This drama is also written by Kim Eun Sook, my favourite drama writer (who also wrote Lovers and A Gentleman's Dignity ... all dramas I love. :), so I don't think I'll be disappointed. I just dig the way she makes her characters act their age. She avoids desexualizing them completely like most other dramas which make a big deal about sex & intimacy. And she always gives us wonderful happy endings. The woman doesn't write fast enough for me! :)

I just finished The Princess' Man. WOW, it's gonna take a while to recover from that :) I think i'll need something lighter now
Maybe I'll finally watch The World that They Live In like you said. Been wanting to see that ever since I've seen Hyun Bin in Secret Garden...

Yeah, I'm really saving it City Hall for when I'm desperate for a good drama :) I know I'll love it.

Regarding Secret Garden, I totally agree with everything. I'm usually not superficial but what really bothered me about Ha Ji Won are the weird hairstyles, I was really distracted by those, cuz she can look attractive and cute. So to add it up with the not so great acting...
Hyun Bin is epic in Secret Garden for me. I've rewatched it like gazilion times already and I've enjoyed his acting every time. I also loved that his character (and looks for me) was not perfect and that it took me time to understand him and fall for him like it did for Gil Ra Im.
This drama made me LOL so hard and then do the ugly cry. :)

I love what you said about "desexualizing" dramas. I'm not looking for super sexual scenes but sometimes it seems unnatural how the characters avoid this big elephant in the room...

I've been meaning to watch The Princess' Man sometime soon, but why did you have that reaction? Is it very angsty and melodramatic?

Secret Garden ... well, it turned out that I didn't enjoy it so much after all. It kind of went downhill for me at the half-way point. It became very draggy & I pretty much skip-watched the drama from ep 9 - 20. I really didn't care very much for the main relationship. I felt much more invested in Oska & Seul's relationship (although it turned out to be very bland). I've never been an admirer of HJW in any way ... but I thought she looked very unattractive in this drama. A big part of that was due to her hairstyle and her mannerisms which never seize to annoy me.

And yes, I'm not asking for porn ... but I want to see two adults who supposedly are in love acting their age & kissing like they mean it. Unfortunately this did not happen in SG. It lacked that mature vibe I enjoyed so much in Lovers & City Hall.

Well, I can recommend u many great dramas with strong romance and movies, too... :3 If you like romance/comedy/time traveling drama: Queen In Hyun's Man and You Who Came From The Stars If you like romance/melodrama/kinda slice of life drama: That Winter The Wind Blows and I Miss You If you like romance/comedy/horror drama: The Master's Sun If you like romance/comedy/with lawyers drama: I Hear Your Voice etc. I have a lot more of them, so if you want some more recommendations just PM me :D
