there are also some Thai dramas that fit that description but I don't remember the name

I haven't watched any new dramas for a while, but I remember there was a trend in some "older" Chinese dramas that featured that kind of possessive, edgy (borderline psychotic lol) ML:

Sealed with a Kiss (2011)

Cruel Romance (2015)

Lady & Liar (2015)

Also I second I Love My President Though He's a Psycho (2017)
