I don't understand... this should be the prequel to Blood of Youth. In blood of youth they say Wang Ren Sun [Demon sect] was the best friend of Ye Dingzhi, but then he killed him. Why? If you see Dashing Youth you can clearly see that his best friend was Baili Dongjun, and he didn't kill Ye Dingzhi. So who is Wang Ren Sun? Can anyone help me clarify this matter? Which part has Wang Ren Sun here in Dashing Youth? And why did he became Ye Dingzhi best friend (and killer) in Blood of Youth?

also the death of Yue Yao and Yue Qing seem to be different, anyone can explain?

In DY Yue Yao will wed with Baili Dongjun, while Yue Qing killed herself in the cell

In Blooding Youth Yue Yao seems to be killed by Baili Dongjun, taking the fault for Yue Qing???

In The Blood Of Youth, it's said that Wang Rensun was the one who betrayed Ye Dingzhi thus he took his own life. They were not best friends. It's not something to with Baili Dongjun.  In The Blood Of Youth it is said that Dongjun killed his wife, mistaking her for her sister.  In Dashing Youth, this event did not take place yet. That's why you must be confused.

Hi, I saw all episoded of the 2 drama, I'm not confused. There are discrepancies. In the beginning of BOY they say Rensun is one of the best friend of Ye Dingzhi and betrayed  him, but in Dashing Youth there's no mention of it. Also in Dashing Youth the sister of Yue Yao, Yue Qing, dies in the cell after Ye Dingzhi imprisoned her. So this is really different from Blood of Youth scene. Why these discrepancies? and which is the real story?

Wang Rensun is one of the 7 swordsmen who attacked Ye Dingzhi in his home compound. As he was very close with YDZ, Anshi and Wen Jun (shown briefly in later episodes), his joining of the other 6 swordsmen to kill YDZ can be called 'betrayal' in a sense.

Not sure about BLDJ as I'm only 5 ep into BoY.

thank you. Waiting for your comments after finishing BoY!

Wang Rensun definitely wasn't his best friend, and I don't recall any mention of that being the case in BOY or DY. However, they did meet and become close friends in eps 32-33(DY). Ye Dingzhi introduces him to his family and he regularly visited them and brought them news, and was close with Wuxin(would bring him toys and play with him). And like ninetails89  mentioned, he was one of the 7 swordsmen who tried to assassinate Ye Dingzhi(Ep 39) while he was still recovering after his battle with Baili Dongjun.

Wang Rensun was also the only one out of the 7 swordsmen who knew about his secret location. So he was likely the one who told them about it(another betrayal). There was also confusion about Ye Dingzhi's death in BOY, which was one of the plot threads that was later revealed throughout the series. All Wuxin knew was that Wang Rensun was one of the people responsible for his father's death. Although we know this was not the case now(as it was later revealed that YDZ took his own life in both series), Wang Rensun still blamed himself for playing a part in it.

I seem to have found an explanation - https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://m.facebook.com/groups/892586009020108/posts/1077709467174427/&ved=2ahUKEwiKz4acjPeLAxUmSkEAHQ20MpMQjjh6BAgsEAE&usg=AOvVaw0Oui0TE5xxTymXLG5CluHP

@Joanie, it won't let me quote you sorry. But several characters in Dashing Youth do refer to Wen Rensun as Ye Dingzhi's best friend. One of the people calling WRS as YD's best friend was even Baili Dongjun himself! It's very fresh for me since I'm watching Blood of Youth now. The eps these convos take place in are early in the series, like ep 6 or 7-ish (not sure since I'm passed that now)

I don't see how that is possible since Ye Dingzhi didn't actually meet Wen Rensun until later on in Dashing Youth (at around Ep 35). If you're saying he's referred to as his best friend in ep 6 - 7ish of Blood of Youth, then that makes way more sense. The descrepency that we're referring to is mostly with Dashing Youth not fully depicting their relationship this way(since the Blood of Youth series was released first). Dashing Youth suggest a massive retcon, and more implies Baili Dongjun is YD's best friend. Wen Rensun has a very minor role in the series(Dashing Youth), and barely has any significant interaction with YD.  But that may have more to do with YD's 'years in exile/living as a hermit' mostly being skipped over. Which is where their relationship took place.

Edit: Sorry, I just read my old post you replied to and realized that I had said I don't recall WR being mentioned as YD's best friend. So yes, I've since gone back after making that post and seen that he was indeed called his best friend. It's entirely possible this becomes the case within the context of the story since YD and BDJ have a falling out in their relationship. So while the viewers can see that they are best friends, BDJ may no longer see it that way out of guilt, and the others around them might not believe it since they had become enemies. In Blood of Youth YD's death and the relationships were mostly a mystery to the public.
