I do not know how feasible this may be but I would like to suggest that we be allowed to disable replies to our comments on drama pages.

I believe I have seen this feature in Reviews, and I think it's quite neat.

I am someone who absolutely does not wish to get involved in "Comment Section War", and I think it would be extremely helpful for reducing unwanted arguments or responses to someone's opinion on a drama.

After all, some people just want to say their piece and leave peacefully. I’m sure it will be useful if considered

Is this a new feature? I hadn’t noticed it before.

It’s a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, this feature could be helpful by allowing people to avoid unnecessary involvement. On the other hand, it also has the potential to be misused , someone might insult or abuse another person and then disable replies. This is similar to how some people misuse the block feature: they send a final abusive message and then block the other person.

My intention here is not to refute what you’re suggesting , but to highlight different aspects.

Thank you for your thoughts. It's great to think from all aspects. Fort this situation— I believe this has an easy fix of "Reporting".

As seen above, the comment sections have a written caution for the members. In cases such as this, the comments can simply be reported to the community moderators who can then remove the comment and take the member to task.

Either way, I would be less likely to see someone disagreeing with me in a comment of their own, compared to them taunting me under my own comment and being notified of it.

Also, for the "Comment Disabling in Review" —I do believe it is a new feature. I don't remember having that option before a couple of years ago. Might be something that's rolling in with the new website. Which is exciting!

i gave my last 3 votes to this, seems like a good idea.

if someone write hate comments we can simply report them, but someone who is just simply criticizing a show dont need to be faced by a war from the fans of the show

Thank you for the support!

It's precisely this. I am hoping it will cultivate an environment in the comment section that is less argumentative & anxiety inducing. People can come and share their opinions and leave — as long as they are not attacking another MDL user.

you are welcome,

exactly it creates a friendly place for people who feel anxious about receiving mean comments like i know some people who avoid participating in comment sections for this reason.

I am also in that group, It is scary to comment in C-Dramas, K-Dramas, and BL comment sections. 😅
