I Agree and would love to see Singaporean dramas added to MDL.

Wonder who owns this website - bias against Singapore production or afraid of their authority?

I'm pretty sure it is a copyrights and intellectual property issue from the Singapore Mediacorp. It appear like they dont want to sit with the rest of us...not the other way around.

I'm pretty sure it is a copyrights and intellectual property issue from Singapore Mediacorp. Their standards for allowing access to their content are strict, isolating them from more exposure. It appears like they are the ones who don't want to sit with the rest of us...not the other way around.

But here on MDL are a lot of dramas listed  you cannot access online anywhere (anymore). So I don't see that as a problem. This is just a database /personal tracking site for content you watch(ed) or plan to watch. Not some provider for illegal access to some companies' intellectual property and copyrighted material...

Furthermore Singapore itself is one of the most international countries in Asia, so why wouldn't "they" share their "soft diplomacy" with international audiences to attract more talent and capital?

It is because mydramalist.com does not including a country called Singapore on their website. So dramas from Singapore cannot be listed under Singapore. Got that? Nothing so sophisticated like what was mentioned.

Well I don't believe MyDramalist is "bias against Singapore production or afraid of their authority".

What we do know is that, the producers of Korean and Japanese dramas have more creative freedom than Chinese dramas. So the same can be said about Singaporean dramas. So it seems obvious to me that it is Singapore that will not allow Mydramalist to include them because they want to control how consumers have acess to their content.

"Why wouldn't "they" share their "soft diplomacy" with international audiences to attract more talent and capital??"

Well, people make bad business decisions all the time. IE. The United States current Tariff war with other countries and dismantling the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Why then do both serializd and letterboxd have Singaporean titles?

I'm pretty sure it is a copyrights and intellectual property issue from the Singapore Mediacorp.

Even if true, is this the only company that produces films and/or dramas in Singapore?

Please provide sources for your claims.

By the way, MDL also refuse to add other countries to their database. How do you explain that?

I don't know! 😭😭😭

I was simply making a reasonable deduction that disparages neither party. It's not wrong if MyDramalist or Singapore want to be exclusive.

Ah, I see.

You seemed so convinced in your first two comments, that I didn't understand these were just guesses. I apologise if I was too harsh in my reaction.

Thank you so much for the compassion towards my erroneous confidence .  😍💕

I don't know where to ask or stick this post/link to ask MDL if they could enter this Singapore Drama on their site..Since Singapore don't exist here, can a Mod/Admin add it to China, so I can add it to my COMPLETE list?? It has 3 Parts and such a great series..

I stuck it here because I wasn't sure if I should OPEN a NEW Post and might get in trouble?? So here it is

and hopeful the Admin/Mod would do me the favor of ADDING this series to China or Taiwan, since it's IN Mandarin..

King of Gamblers, Yan Kun and King of Deception, Long Tingguang, both set their eyes on Coral Island - an undeveloped empty island- for their future casino landmark. Yan is then forced to blind his own eyes, while his wife is made to commit suicide, leaving Yan's five-year-old son an orphan.

18 years later, Yan's son has grown up as Lin Jianfei. His happy-go-lucky attitude is a cover for his ultimate goal: to avenge his parents' misfortunes. His gambling skills draws the attention of Long's enemy, Qiu Huaifeng. She hires Lin to work for her family's casino and Lin uses this opportunity to perfect his gambling skills.

Later, Lin and his friend, Xiangnan, are mistakenly arrested for illegal gambling by policewoman, Luo Qifang. Qifang and her sister, Wenxin, both turn out to be Lin's neighbour. Over time, the bickering pair become romantically involved, and Lin reveals his true identity as Yan Fei, the son of the King of Gamblers.

Just as the young couple's relationship blooms, Qifang discovers that she is actually Long Jiajia - the long lost daughter and the only surviving child of Long, Yan Fei's arch enemy.
