Hello.  This seems to be the correct place to report this:  The movie "Omniscient Reader:  The Prophesy" came out 7/23/2025.  It currently has 156 written reviews.  Of those reviews, at least 133 of the accounts that left  reviews of a low 1.0-1.5 were created on or since 7/23.  Most have similar wording and complaints, which is what originally drew my suspicions.  Approximately 12 other accounts look suspiciously like they were created previously, to be used for (possibly) paid reviews, but I realize that nothing will probably be done about those at this point.  However, for those who don't have the time, as I do, to check creation dates for that amount of reviewers, this may affect their decision whether to pay money to see the movie or not.  Pages and pages of 1.0 reviews can really do some damage to a movie's reputation, at least in my opinion.

Also, in the comment section, the user Gogoallaout, who's account was also created on 7/23, seems to be really doing some damage.  They appear to actually be turning people away from watching the movie.  I realize that everyone has an opinion and that's what the comment section is for, but this seems like intentional defamation.  Additionally, they are one of the accounts that has given the low 1.0 written reviews.

I hope something can be done about this.  I know not everyone is honest, but I think most people are, and I often look at the comments and reviews for the pros and cons of a drama or movie on MDL before watching. I'd like for most of them to be true opinions from honest accounts.

Yes, users can write reviews even if they just joined or came from platforms like X, and sometimes that includes negative opinions. Let’s be honest, if all the reviews were 10s, this probably wouldn’t be an issue.

That said, these reviews don’t directly affect the overall rating, and new accounts have very limited influence. The current score mainly reflects input from long-time users.

Technically those reviews are not wrong or false. The movie has a 5.1 rating on imdb as well. It has a 37% rating on rottentomatoes. It has a 1.4 rating on Google reviews. All have a much larger audience voting so only MDL's ratings are skewed towards being more favourable by not reflecting all votes.

As you said, the reviews wouldn't be an issue if they were all 10s. It's only considered a problem since it's being given 1 and 1.5 stars. But honestly they butchered the story and the characters so the audience will naturally be unhappy. So I don't know if those reviews should be withheld. Just my perspective.
