Lu Wuyi was starting to get sick of herself. She was getting sick of loosing face in front of Long Shen everytime he said something hurtful to her. He never failed to stab her heart with those poisonous words of him. But maybe she deserved it.
"You might as well get it into that head of yours today. I'm not Jiling. I will never be him no matter how much you try to fool yourself. Don't make me repeat myself again."
He was furiously glaring at her and if looks could kill maybe she would be dead by now. Well it did felt as if she's was dying. The pain in her heart was too much. You would think Lu Wuyi should had been used to such looks from him by now. But no. She never would. Not when in her memories, the same person was looking at her with tenderness and love and all good things possible.
Her eyes were already full of tears and she couldn't help but chuckle bitterly. This is cruel. He was being too cruel. Lu Wuyi's hand touched the cute fox doll unconsciously making Long Shen's vicious glare lock on it.
For a second, she could catch a change in his eyes as he kept looking at Manman resting on her waist.
One last time. She thought. After this, she would really give up. She removed Manaman from her body and and held her hand out without saying anything.
Long Shen made no move to reach for it. He glanced at it with uninterested and could only frown with frustration. "Are you even listening to me? I made myself clear that-
"You can do whatever you want with it. Burn it if you must. Jiling is gone so why does it matter?" She was obviously lying. This was the only thing Jiling had left behind and she wasn't planning on letting it leave her side but she saw it. She was sure, Long Shen's empty eyes weren't emotionless when his eyes fell upon it just a minute ago. And it was worth a try. If he really dared to do anything to Manman, he would see a side of her he never had.
He gritted his teeth and reached for the little fox, pausing immediately after taking hold of it. He started inspecting it with a strange look and Lu Wuyi forced herself to turn around and walk away.
Surely, he wouldn't do anything to it right? He was an ice cube but he knew how dear it was to her. He wouldn't be so heartless right?
Lu Wuyi only took a few steps and she was ready to run back to him fast and take her dear fox back when suddenly someone took hold if her arm and turned her around. "I told you to stop."
Huh. She hadn't heard a thing. She noticed Long Shen was breathing heavily and his eyes were intently looking at her face. They both kept staring at eachother and Lu Wuyi couldn't exactly pinpoint the emotion in his eyes but it looked close to desperation.
Long Shen gulped before his hold on her arm became stronger. Not strong enough hurt, but definitely enough keep her locked on the spot. "...What kind of trick are you pulling this time?"
Lu Wuyi could feel heart heart skip a beat immediately when his voice came out shaky and confused. Manman had reminded him of something. And that was enough to make her start laughing. As if burned, Long Shen removed his hold and took a step back. There was hope after all.
