I don't know if this will help but Tune in to love is the first thing that came to my mind when I was watching this. It has that 90's vibe too with a broadcasting theme. Also has the email form of communication. They go through a separation period, multiple actually but always found eachother. I don't know if it's considered light but it's a movie, so easy to watch and has a good ending, I remember really enjoying it when I watched. It has Jung Hae in too, if you're a fan.
