Approved / Preferred Examples for Titles (Taiwan)

Help

These examples highlight Taiwan–specific cases where correct main cover choices are often misunderstood.

All general approval rules apply as described in the Global Approved / Preferred Examples section.

Platform-Commissioned Taiwanese Originals

Approved/preferred examples include:

  • Platform-branded posters or key visuals only when the title was:

    • Commissioned or produced by a platform, and

    • Released as an official Taiwan platform original

  • Posters or visuals that were:

    • Used in official announcements

    • Included in press materials

    • Released outside the platform UI (e.g., press kits, official social posts)

Key principle

For platform originals, the original Taiwan promotional visual released by the platform is the correct main cover.

Important clarification

  • Platform appearance alone does not make a poster valid

  • App thumbnails, recommendation cards, search images, or UI-generated artwork are not approved examples

  • Platform branding does not override the requirement for official promotional intent

Broadcaster Originals Later Acquired by Platforms

Approved/preferred examples include:

  • Original Taiwanese broadcaster-issued promotional posters or visuals

  • Posters used during:

    • Original broadcast promotion

    • Initial domestic release campaigns

These remain correct even when:

  • A platform later acquires the title

  • New platform-specific visuals appear in the app

  • The platform version becomes more visible online

Key principle

Later platform-adopted visuals do not replace the original Taiwanese broadcast identity.

Social-Media-First Official Promotional Visuals

Approved/preferred examples include:

  • Official posters or key visuals first released via:

    • Verified broadcaster social media accounts

    • Official platform pages

    • Production company social channels

  • Visuals that:

    • Were clearly intended as the main promotional image

    • Were used consistently during official promotion

Taiwan-specific context

In Taiwan, many titles do not receive a dedicated poster page or a standalone official website. Social-media release is often the primary and only official method of poster distribution.

Important clarification

  • Social-media origin does not make an image unofficial

  • Authenticity of the promotional material matters more than where it is hosted

Legacy Taiwanese Titles & Archival Survival

Approved/preferred examples include:

  • Official promotional posters or visuals preserved primarily through:

    • Archived broadcaster materials

    • Long-standing Taiwanese reference sources

  • Lower-resolution or scanned materials when:

    • No higher-quality official version exists

    • The material accurately reflects the original release period

Key principle

For legacy Taiwanese titles, historical authenticity takes priority over image quality. Older titles are not required to meet modern poster design or resolution standards.

Closing Note

Approved main cover images for Taiwan titles are selected based on:

  • Official origin

  • Intended Taiwan promotional use

  • Stable domestic release identity

  • Correct scope and context

Platform visibility, visual polish, or later rebranding do not override the original Taiwanese promotional intent.
