Cover Image Guidelines for Titles (Philippines)
Contents
These rules explain the Philippines-specific requirements for selecting a main cover image for Philippines titles.
All general cover rules (official-only, integrity, orientation, scope, rejection cases, placeholders) are defined in the Global Cover Image Guidelines and apply here by default.
Official Social Media Releases as Primary Promotional Source
In the Philippines, official promotional posters and key visuals are very often released first, or only, via social media, rather than on dedicated program websites.
Acceptable official sources include:
Verified Facebook pages of:
Broadcasters (e.g., ABS-CBN, GMA, TV5)
Production companies
Official title pages
Official Instagram and X (Twitter) accounts of the broadcaster or production
Official press releases shared via social platforms
Important clarification
Social media is acceptable only when the account is official
Screenshots of posts are acceptable only if the image itself is official and unedited
Fan reposts, unverified pages, or reshared images without a traceable official origin are not acceptable
Why this matters
Many Philippine titles do not receive separate “poster pages.” Social media often is the primary promotional channel.
Official Opening Logos or Title Cards from Released Videos (Limited Use)
In the Philippines, some titles, especially TV programs, talk shows, and variety formats, do not receive standalone posters or key visuals.
Approved usage
An official opening logo or title card may be used as the main cover image only when:
No official poster or key visual exists, and
The logo or title card:
Appears in an officially released video (e.g. full episode, official trailer, official opening sequence)
Is part of the program’s designed branding
Is clean, unmodified, and clearly legible
Acceptable sources
Official YouTube channels of:
The broadcaster
The production company
The official program account
Not acceptable
Screenshots of:
Episodes mid-scene
Hosts speaking
Studio shots without branding
Fan-made logo recreations
Cropped thumbnails or UI overlays
Social media video previews with added text or stickers
Key principle
Only intentionally designed branding visuals qualify — not arbitrary frames from a video.
