Enjoyed but didn't LOVE

I love the Chief's character so much - he's fucking adorable!! I found the MC annoying though - causing more trouble than positives. It's hard to believe he could manage to win everyone over after all he does. On that note, the main reason why I didn't LOVE this show is that it didn't really convince me of anything: it didn't convince me that the villagers could love and accept the MC, and even though they did in the series, it didn't look convincing; It was hard to believe that MC was a good teacher; I didn't feel the guilt that MC was feeling; I also wasn't convinced of their relationship. I love the Chief but I don't really care for them. Perhaps it's because I didn't like MC's character nor his acting.  Anyways, other than that, this is a super wholesome watch with a detailed storyline. I know this is technically a classic in terms of bls and I can see why with the way it differs from the rest before it.
