Intelligent Character/s

ML had the added benefit of being sent back in time to his younger self and reliving those years, so he had a rough idea of what happened in that time that helped him make informed decisions. He retained his older adult learning, so college was much simpler the second time around. He was bright to begin with, but he had the added edge of foreknowledge to assist him, except it got dodgy when his actions changed the future, and he had to rely on his wits.

The female detective and prince were supposed to be "remarkably smart and resourceful," but they were consistently 10 steps behind the villain and viewers. It was agonizing how very slow on the uptake the "smartest" people were. If the villain had been just a tad more intelligent, the drama would have been a few episodes (it was purely a miracle the ML and FL survived so long). Still, I enjoyed the aspect of camaraderie and detective work of the leads. There were moments of lucidity and keen observation that allowed this drama to appear on this list. I'm grading on a curve here.
