1. if i could swipe every other thai BL off the table just to let this one shine and get more attention i WOULD. EVEN BAD BUDDY!! FORGET EVERYTHING ELSE LOOK AT THIS!!
2. i would argue that this is p'aofs greatest work but then everyone in thai bl-land might kill me BUT ITS TRUE
3. i so love the issues this show highlights. how the mc already feels like such a weirdo because he can see ghosts that it adds a layer to his repressed sexuality. he's already a freak!! he doesn't think he can fathom adding being gay on top of that! and when the show gets to it, it is so so heartbreaking and great. the portrayal is so realistic and was something i personally resonated with. i also love ml's issues, the fact that he's never felt alive even when he was still living. both characters are written well
4. best of all it's a nice mix of fluffy relaxing watch but nails the angsty moments.

6. it was written well. don't ever let bad cinematography and low-budget look stop you from gems like this.

1. i didn't expect this to be as good as it was but holy shit it's good
2. the relationship development was actually so mature and fluffy. the way they both opened up to each other hits particularly good
3. mc's self worth issues are written so well...this show was just a great balance of comedy and heartfelt moments. slice of life realness indeed

1. at first i was like "nahh" but it kept me watching and by eps 8 i was like "ok this is great" by eps 11 i was like "this might be the best bl yet" lmao.
2. i said nah but the thing is this show is so entertaining and written well that you WILL hold on till you realize its actually a masterpiece.
3. best thing abt this show is the maturity and how rich the writing is when it comes to how the main pair handles their relationship, their appreciation for each other. there's just so much about it that makes it such a realistic queer take...and i don't think a lot of dramas manage that. its also so earnest with its themes and settings. the drama also honors its characters that everyone feels alive and its a nice ensemble....this is great writing.
4. the dynamic is AMAZING....chemistry insane....

1. don't believe the people who said this wasn't gay this was gay from start to finish if you're not an idiot
2. oh god the toxic jealousy and repression and how that comes out into ugly hurtful actions and words is so good...the writing is amazing
3. i'm the only person who has ever loved you this much and is capable of loving you this much type shit...the flavor of possessive toxicity in this is insane
4. it ends tragically but is framed in a way that i see where they originally intended for it to end but for some reason did not.
5. the korean remake will never be as good as this and reduces the rich layered writing this contains
20. The Untamed

Chinese Drama - 2019, 50 episodes
1. ml has the nuance and richness to his personality that cold upstanding love interests of his archetype don't have which is that he's willing to grow and learn from the tragedies. grief does not set him back and he picks himself back up to do what he can, to help in a way that those tragedies won't reoccur. he is so clear on his principles and that's what makes him quite literally the lord of light...he's admirable and even if the dynamic isn't my taste he is the perfect fit for mc because all these unchanging qualities of his are what gives comfort to mc and is what mc needs. to be believed and supported by someone like lan wangji is to be recognized and given a chance by goodness itself. he is untainted despite everything.
2. i just think its such a gift that we get queer media of this caliber where the adaptation doesn't fail the original IP, excels in delivering both romance and plot where the romance accompanies and permeates wei wuxian's story and is believably developed while the clan wars, his youth, and transgressions are still successfully delivered.
3. mc is one of the most iconic characters you will ever meet. too bad the series washes off his sins but i get it. censorship.

1. show so gay it set chinese bl back on the fight against censorship for another 10 years
2. they're so unashamed of presenting this as a romance and i appreciate that lmao
3. so good honestly...it got me so obsessed back then
4. the emotions and themes of humanity and vulnerability they present in this is just so raw and devastating. i don't think many series successfully deliver it quite as well as this one and while it has its flaws- it stays with you and leaves such a mark that first moment you experience this show.
