News Easy-to-digest J-dramas
I believe these dramas aren't centred around dramatic conflict and are quite digestible/easy to watch.
Sorted by easiest to digest to least (or in the case where the level is a tie, the one that I believe is better overall is ranked higher).
I was going to add 'with good writing' to the end of this but then I realised there's only two shows I've watched that I can confidently say have good writing all throughout and look how short this list is already. LMAO

1. My Love Mix-Up!
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
SO CUTE AND SWEET
-
2. Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
I can't stress how this is literally the best rom-com of all time. Machida's performance as Kurosawa is FANTASTIC.

3. In House Marriage Honey
Japanese Drama - 2020, 7 episodes
Happy, healthy relationship between the leads with insane chemistry! Definitely something to watch if you especially need to relax and want something easy to process with little tension :)
-
4. Stay Tuned!
Japanese Drama - 2019, 5 episodes
Available on netflix. Hilarious!! Definitely, definitely recommend.
-
5. Horimiya
Japanese Drama - 2021, 7 episodes
So so so cute and wholesome! I didn't think the last episode fit in with the rest of the series but I have rewatched the first 4 or so episodes of this series for its sweet content!

6. The Curry Songs
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
didn't really like the latter part of the series as much (it was more focused on the drama in the protagonist's life rather than the humour), but definitely recommend the first half for a light and entertaining watch!

7. Mare
Japanese Drama - 2015, 156 episodes
Haven't finished watching this yet but this is a pretty heartwarming slice of life so far, and I'd expect it to continue like this! Really recommend :)

8. The Full-Time Wife Escapist
Japanese Drama - 2016, 11 episodes
I was debating putting this on this list - but the romance between the leads is really sweet, I couldn't help myself. This definitely has more tension than the other shows on this list.

9. The Full-Time Wife Escapist: New Year's Special
Japanese Drama - 2021, 1 episode
In terms of the tension:heartwarming ratio, this is more heartwarming than the original series. I've ranked it lower than the original series so nobody is misguided by what order to watch them in.

10. Uso Kara Hajimaru Koi
Japanese Special - 2021, 1 episode
-
11. Dekinai Futari: Dizukyun-hen
Japanese Special - 2022, 1 episode
this was alright. predictable and nice happy ending.
