1. The K2
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
action | thriller | psychological | romance — 16 eps – 8/10
The K2 was the first kdrama I ever watched, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart. JCW's portrayal of Je Ha was exquisite... both his emotional and action scenes were breathtaking. The FL was bland af in my opinion (he had better chem with Yoo Jin, and everyone knows it lmao), but the plot was intriguing, love story was sweet enough, and JCW knows how to pair charisma and vulnerability with a raw, sexy edge in a way that is undeniably captivating.

2. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
action | comedy | romance | supernatural — 16 eps — 9/10
One of my all-time favourites, tbh. Park Hyung Sik & Park Bo Young were brilliant as the MC — their chemistry, acting and vibrant charisma (both together and apart) made this show absolutely iconic.
Also, Min Hyuk is the new standard... he is the ultimate Soft Boy and puppy ML ;;_____;;

3. The Whirlwind Girl Season 2
Chinese Drama - 2016, 36 episodes
action | romance | martial arts | sports —36 eps — 7/10
Watched for JCW and JCW alone. Lol.

4. The Mind Game
Thai Drama - 2021, 11 episodes
action | romance | crime | supernatural —11 eps — 6.5/10
I skimmed this one... didn't watch every episode super closely. It's decent. Nothing extraordinary, but the acting was okay. I always enjoy watching Bank, but I've definitely seen better performances from him. This plot didn't bring out the best in anyone, tbh. (I think this was the first Thai drama I watched.)

5. Love in Contract
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
business | comedy | romance — 16 eps — 7.5/10
My autistic/neurodivergent heart was immediately drawn to Ji-ho (who shows all signs of autism/neurodivergence imho). The story was medicore (and predictable) at times, but I enjoyed the acting, romance, and humor.

6. Suspicious Partner
Korean Drama - 2017, 40 episodes
thriller | comedy | law | romance — 20 eps — 8/10
The pacing was painful at times and I was disappointed that the romance took a back burner more often than not, but still an enjoyable watch. (Like so many dramas, it could've been shorter.) I'll always watch forJCW, though. ♥

7. New Life Begins
Chinese Drama - 2022, 40 episodes
historical | comedy | romance | life | political — 40 eps — 9.5/10
Something about this show stole my whole heart. The pacing was perfect, romance a bit slow at times but absolutely delightful, and the friendships? TOP TIER. My first cdrama... and the one that got me interested in historical/wuxia cdramas. :') Honestly, I'll probably watch this one again.

8. Fuujinshi
Japanese Drama - 2022, 9 episodes
action | mystery | fantasy — 9 eps —8/10
A unique and gritty plot with stellar acting, great special effects, and a satisfying ending.

9. Final Life
Japanese Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
action | thriller | mystery | psychological — 12 eps — 5/10
Messy and disjointed, this show had a lot of potential but suffered from poor direction and a listless plot. The cast did a decent job with what they had to work with, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to make up for the other glaring (and I mean that literally iykyk) shortcomings.

10. Perfect World
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
romance | life | drama — 10 eps — 8/10
Raw, honest and genuine, this drama was so bittersweet and wholesome. It doesn't shy away from the harsh reality many people with physical disabilities face daily, and highlighted many things that others may take for granted. I'm a huge fan of Matsuzaka Tori, and he did an excellent job portraying Itsuki – all his difficulties and struggles, as well as his relentless optimism and perseverance.

11. Junkyouju Takatsuki Akira no Suisatsu
Japanese Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
mystery | youth | supernatural | friendship | found family — 8 eps — 8.5/10
Such a unique little gem of a show! A delightful mix of the oddity of Sherlock Holmes and the magic of Harry Potter. Loved the bromance/friendship/found family vibes, and the "cases" were intriguing with lots of Japanese history/superstition without being overly creepy.

12. A Familiar Stranger
Chinese Drama - 2022, 18 episodes
historical | romance | supernatural | body swap — 18 eps (miniseries) — 8/10
A delightful little series! Fantastic acting from the entire cast, an intriguing (if simple) storyline, great chem between the MC, and a satisfactory ending.

13. My Girlfriend Is an Alien
Chinese Drama - 2019, 28 episodes
comedy | romance | fantasy — 28 eps — 8/10
The plot left much to be desired (and wtf is up with all these villains getting excused with a mere slap on the wrist?!), but the chemistry was delightful, and the actors gave solid performances. An enjoyable, brainless, fluffy watch. Will I watch it again? No. But I don't regret the time I spent with these characters. ♥

14. No Gain, No Love
Korean Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
comedy | romance | drama — 12 eps — 7.5/10
Honestly, the second couple kept me watching this show long after I would have otherwise dropped it. I found the first half unbearably draggy, but enjoyed the intrigue of the second half – even if it did change the entire feel of the show and took it entirely out of the "romcom" genre. Nothing truly extraordinary about this drama, but it was a pretty easy watch. I loved seeing the growth of some of the characters - and was glad that the FL didn't turn out to be as much of a selfish b!tch as I first thought. Lol.

15. Spice up Our Love
Korean Drama - 2024, 2 episodes
comedy | romance | fantasy — 2 eps (spinoff miniseries) — 8/10
This was just cute. I adore the second couple from No Gain, No Love and this was a nice chance to get a few more minutes with them. Getting a glimpse into Ja Yeon's fictional world was very fun as well. Fluffy, brainless, and 100% enjoyable.

16. Decreed by Fate
Chinese Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
historical | comedy | romance — 16 eps — 8/10
The main thing this drama suffered from was a low budget, tbh. The editing was choppy and the storytelling was uncoordinated, but the acting and the main couple's chemistry more than made up for it. I adore this couple. ML was strong without being cold, FL was cute without being ditzy, and the "love triangle" was handled in such a mature way, I actually enjoyed it. And the humor... the three leads actually had me wheezing with laughter during some of their scenes. The plot was rather weak (and made even more clumsy by the low-budget editing, etc), but I really ended up enjoying this drama more than I expected to.

17. Her Private Life
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
business | comedy | romance | drama — 16 eps — 8.5/10
I was not expecting to love this drama as much as I did... but it completely stole my heart. Chaotic, funny, heartfelt, emotional, and romantic (can we talk about the chemistry?!) — this drama has it all. The pacing was perfect, all the characters were lovable and relatable, and I absolutely fell in love with the supportive, mature relationship that blossomed between the leads.
My only complaint is that last minute, half-assed "childhood connection and car crash" addition. Like, what was that? It was completely unnecessary, felt contrived, and added absolutely nothing to the story. And yet, despite that, this show remains an (underrated) gem. I enjoyed every moment spent with these characters.

18. Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo
Japanese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
