favourites of all time!

my fav chinese costume drama ever! made me obsessed with wang xingyue and wu jinyan, and even made me a HI6 fan because after their appearance i have been constantly going back! (i have so many random reels and youtube edits of xue li X xiao heng!

my favourite japanese drama ever. as a person with japanese ancestry and heritage who grew up abroad and have been influenced by western cultures,  i have always seen jdramas as a very cringy and weird (i really don't know why even though i have been watching them since probably the age of one.)  However, after this show everything changed. I initially came across this particular adaptation of this drama through my mom/or interent (i forgot), and realized that it was the japanese adaptation of meteor garden and boys over garden, which i both stopped at like the 5th episode because it was really bad (i am not sorry). I was hesitant at first because I did not want to be wasting my time with yet another horrible adaptation. BUT I WAS WRONG. It blew my mind. I have a full pinterest board and music playlist dedicated for this drama, i was and am still very much obsessed with this drama AHHHH. the chemistry and the group chemistry is unmatched compared to any other jdrama i have ever watched even though many years has passed since the final movie of this show was released. LIKE OMG this show does not get the hype that it needs to get. omg i became so addicted that i even forced some of my friends to recreate scenes in the ebisu place LOLLLLL. I love love the OST so much and its just heart-racing and such an amazing to watch and rewatch. PLUS the amount of actors and actresses that are so famous right now have like a small cameo in them which are just a joy to find OMG!

OF COURSE I have to talk about this masterpiece. this show has immaculate, phenomenal, the acting, the scenery, cinematography AHHHHH. nothing tops the storyline and execution because damn. even though it has been a while since i have watched this show, but it feels like i can still remember all of the episodes so vividly its actually scary. one other thing that made this show so special to me was that, my father and i were kind of watching it together at the same time which made it definitely a core memory for me! Also, the fact that the main two got married is just *chefs kiss* i swear to god. the chemistry was chemistry-ing so hard that they legit crashed. literally. in. love. with each other LOL (i tried)

MY QUEEN. YONEKURA RYOKO 

(do not need to elaborate because her name is the embodiment of all of her amazingness)

one of the most consistent jdramas throughout my life, and something in me changed when i saw how kumiko yamaguchi caught the baseball facing the chalkboard. it was as if i knew that i teaching would be part of big part of my aspirations and dreams.

my first ever k-drama! i can still remember vividly the first time i watched this (and for some reason the park seo-joon tucked in the little closet will forever be engraved in my head LOL). this is where i feel in love with Park Min-young, because of her acting and how adorable she is AH, and it marks when i started understanding the hype around kdramas ;)

every episode, every character in this show was perfect. i bawled, my heart-pounded and i started screaming. this was the last drama show i watched in my house in jakarta before i left for tokyo and i just remember little me always begging for thursdays to come so i could watch it on TVer.  (i cried the most in the eps about sarina suzuki's back story as being a single mom) 

this show healed me, and has a special place in my heart. It will be forever one my favourite kdramas because of Seo Yea ji and Oh Jung Se (only). I am not going to acknowledge hewhomustnotbenamed's effort in this drama, and am not going to bad mouth anything about this show because (yes its one of my fav kdrama) but also because the production team, supporting cast, crew and everyone who was involved in this drama their effort will not go down in vain.
