1. Kabe-Koji-Nekoyashiki-kun Desires to Be Recognized
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Even if this one should be a comedy, I found it, somehow, way more mature than others BL. It isn't dark but psychological heavy: it gives a pretty realistic view on the lives of people with depression. Both the two MLs are depressed (even if they act in a completely different way) and both of them have a lot of traumas.
TW: depression, family issues (cheating, divorce), bullying, homophobia.
-
2. 180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us
Thai Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
This is, without doubt, the best thai BL I've ever watched. The plot is sad and the ending very realistic. It starts like a funny story, but it becomes darker very fast. It's full of metaphors and most of the recurring elements on the show (the travelling theme, the bed, the forest, the bridge) have an interesting meaning. You should watch it at least two times to get all the hidden meanings.
TW: death, internalized homophobia, family issues.
-
3. Killing Curriculum: Jinroh Shokei Game - Prologue
Japanese Movie - 2015
Incredible to say, I loved this movie. It is so bad that it's good. The acting is poor, which made most of the death scenes look weirdly funny. The plot isn't that innovative but it works well. The weird cannibalistic/masochistic yet innocent relationship between the MLs was the cherry on top.
TW: death, suicide, bullying, sexual violence/incest.
-
4. Jinroh Shokei Game
Japanese Movie - 2015
Sadly, I liked this one less than its prequel.
TW: Non graphic NSFW (main couple), death, suicide, violence, bullying, domestic abuse.
-
5. Summer Vacation 1999
Japanese Movie - 1988
This movie is a must watch. It's weird, absurd, complicated and confusing.
TW: suicide, unrequired love.
-
6. Double
Japanese Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
It's difficult to describe what is this drama. It isn't exactly a BL, it isn't exactly a psychological drama. It isn't even a bromance, since one of the ML confesses his feelings. Anyway, it's such a good drama. The plot revolvs around the unusual relationship between the two MLs who are completely dependent on each other; things become difficult when they are forced to split up: they want to stay together (maybe even as a couple) but, at the same time, they know that their relationship is unhealty.
TW: emotional dependence, self-destructive behaviors, selective mutism.
-
7. Method
Korean Movie - 2017
This movie is a masterpiece. It's about two actors who need to get into their roles, but, while tring to do it, the roles and their actual personalities starts to blend together. The movie can be interpreted in different ways. This is how I interpreted it ( Contains SPOILERS + English is not my first language so it might contain mistakes): First if all: the method doesn't exist and it never existed. The only reason why Jae Ha is such a good actor is because he is the role that he interprets. In the movie he does exactly this: he become his role, cheating on his wife with a young man. Yeong Woo, by his side, isn't really interested in the acting career, and he isn't even interested in fame. The only reason why he continued to play is because he liked the new life he's into. He started living like Singer (his character) and he slowly become him. For Jae Ha this was such a good thing, since he wanted him to play well his role. In the end both of them are "defeated": Jae Ha ruined his relationship with his wife (she might give him another chanche, but things will never be the same) and his reputation; Yeong Woo is now confused about his real persinality and about what he wants to do next. At this point there's still a question: Did they liked each other? In my opinion, they where so into their roles that they didn't really reflected on this. We don't know what happened next but, if they had the chance to met again, Jae Ha would definetely cheat on his wife with him again (but, maybe, Yeong Woo wouldn't want him).
TW: Cheating, love triangle, suicide, torture, blood.
-
8. Dead Friend Forever - DFF
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
Horror drama with a complex plot and an open ending. It deals with many sensitive topics and it's a bit gory.
TW: Sexual content (between all the different couples), death, suicide, revenge, blood (and a bit of gore), torture (physical and mental).
-
9. Journey to the Shore
Korean Movie - 2020
Sad and dark short movie. The ending can be interpreted in different ways, but it still a very sad movie.
TW: internalized homophobia, bullying, self harm, depression.
-
10. Kuroi Gashu: Shogen
Japanese Special - 2020, 1 episode
Dark movie about a cheating husband and the terrible conseguences of his actions. I really liked this movie even if it's a bit predictable. Even if cointans sexual contents and violence , they aren't explicit at all (in most of the cases, nothing is shown).
TW: death, homicide, suicide, cheating, sexual contents (main couple).
-
11. Monster
Japanese Movie - 2023
I don't know if this movie can be considered BL, but it's pretty close. About the other contents, it's definetely dark.
TW: child abuse, internalized homophobia, homicide, death, bullying
-
12. One Room Angel
Japanese Drama - 2023, 6 episodes
This one isn't exactly a BL- the bond between the two MLs is so strong that they want to stay together forever- but it has an heavy plot based on death and suicide. It's quite dark and the ending is bittersweet.
TW: depression, bullying, suicide, internalized homophobia, death.
-
13. The Spell
Thai Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
This drama is like 1% horror and 99% pay gorn. It's very dark and twisted, but all those spicy scenes were so useless. The plot itself is kinda confused and many of the things that happen don't make any sense. Some scenes very pretty disturbing as well.
TW: sexual content (a lot of sexual content), cheating (multiple times with litterally everyone), sexual violence (everyone got, at least, sexually molested), rape, necrophilia, homicide, violence (even against people who were already dead), public indecency, body snatching.
-
14. The Effect
Thai Drama - 2019, 3 episodes
This drama starts like a romcom and becomes very dark fast. I tought it was about cyberbullying, but it was way worse. The best part is that all the "bad things" that happen are romanticized: in the past I saw some movies/dramas romanticizing abuse, but that's not the case.
TW: sexual abuse, rape, stalking, cyberbullying, violence, psychological torture, depressin, suicide.
-
15. Lychee Light Club
Japanese Movie - 2016
I don't even know why I decide to watch a such disturbing movie. I don't think it needs any presentation.
TW: rape, torture, sexual content, kidnapping, pedophilia (implied), gore, graphic gross scenes, vomit (worst part tbh), death
-
16. Sad Temptation
Korean Special - 1999, 2 episodes
This drama isn't that dark but rather sad. I was excpecting it to be explicit or morally disgusting since it's about a cheating husband. On the contrary, the bond between the two MLs is pure and innocent, basically a link based on mutual understanding. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to like this one that much especially if you think that it is an LGBT movie made in 1999.
TW: mention of suicide, homophobia, cheating.
-
17. Innocent
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 4 episodes
This is probably the most controversial BL I've ever watched. There's this guy who lives with another guy who acts like a 5 years old (because he thinks he's a 5 years old). And the first guy has this incredible idea to sleep with him ( well, it's better to say that he forces him to sleep with him). And people call this a love story ?! Anyway, there are a lot of mature contents as well (most of the plot is them doing "stuff").
TW: personality disorder, past traumas, explicit sexual contents, rape (?)
-
18. (Not That) Innocent
Taiwanese Special - 2021, 1 episode
Just a little sequel of "Innocent". It's probably not as bad as the sequel but has some sexual contents.
TW: sexual contents, bondage
-
19. Sensei wo Boku Iro ni Somete
Japanese Drama - 2024, 50 episodes
This drama feels like one of those never-ending soap operas that my aunt loved to watch. The whole plot is based on a long series of scandals and love affairs. There's an art teacher who has a quite weird relationship with one of his students (who has a crush on him); he doesn't want to cheat on his wife but, at the same time, he enjoys spending a lot of time with the student. And then, many other characters join the already complicated situation. I liked how realistic this drama was, expecially the ending even if I felt like the characters were testing my patience.
Fun fact: this drama mede me remember about the handsome art teacher from my highschool. I thought about him so much that I accidentally manifested him (it was a shock to see him again after all those years).
TW: nudity (I got mooned (。•́︿•̀。), cheating
-
20. Be Love
Japanese Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
This drama was surprisingly good. I've read a lot of negative comments since many people found it very confusing. It is a bit weird, but when you get its logic, it's simple to understand what's happening (even if you're forced to watch the last episode without subtitles (ᵕ—ᴗ—) ). It's about a married couple- they have a very deep bond that goes beyond the normal definition of love- and a tragedy. It has, surprisingly, an happy ending (or at least I consider it a good ending).
TW: death, blood, mild violence
-
21. Kissable Lips
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
I had a hard time finishing this drama. It's not bad but not good either. I usually love vampire dramas, but in this one somethng was off. The acting was weird, the ending was weird and the dynamics between the characters were absurd (SPOILERS!): the ML kills one of his friends without a good reason, a character (the older brother) disappear in the middle of the drama and the relationship between the couple goes from 0 to 100 in a second (they barely talked for the whole drama but they "sleep" together in the last episode). Anyway, the drama isn't that dark or gory as the other titles.
TW: death, homicides, blood, non graphic NSFW (main couple).
-
22. Discipline Z: Vampire
Korean Drama - 2020, 6 episodes
I probably watched this drama four years ago and only today I discovered that I've never watched the last episode. I would say I didn't miss that much tho. It's a drama about vampires with a tiny tiny bit of romance (and their relationship even ends up bad).
TW: violence, blood, torture, sexual contents (main couple)
-
23. Ai no Kuchigenka
Japanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
To be honest, I don't know where to start to talk about this drama. It turns extremely dark in seconds. It' s all about true love and revenge, but I wasn't expecting it to end in that way. I swear, this is the most unpredictable drama I've ever watched.
TW: cheating, blood, violence, murders, manipulation
-
24. Grand Guignol
Japanese Movie - 2022
I don't know why I felt the need to watch it. I love horror movies and I love BLs, but that's a no for me. I get the main idea, about madness, violence against innocents and grotesque love scenes... but everything was nonsensical. In some parts it looked like a parody since it ws so random. The plot was completely lacking and the ending adds even more nonsense. The BL part was bad as well. I don't get why they tried to make the cook and Amagami look like a lovely couple in the end, since everything in their relationship was extremely wrong (and they don't even try to stay loyal). The "main couple" relationship is better since it really fits in the grotesque atmosphere, but it's hard to understand what's going on between them.
TW: gore, nudity, sexual contents, extreme violence, murders, cannibalism, gross scenes, vomit, castration (he deserved it ♡).
-
25. Beneath the Shadow
Japanese Movie - 2020
Konno might be naive, but I'm way worst than him. This movie is sad, slow and beautiful. I'm a huge fan of fluffy BLs and for some absurd reason I was expecting this movie to be adorable. It's not, but I loved it anyway.
Note: I'm not good with metaphors, but I think the pomegranade scene is the best one: Konno is gentle and careful since he knows how delicate it is; Hiasa just eat it without any care. And then he says that it tastes like human flesh.
TW: it's just sad, nothing else. And Konno is quite naked for most of the movie.
-
26. I Hear the Sunspot
Japanese Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
This has a special place in my heart. Even if it's a fluffy BL, it deals with some strong/sad topics.
TW: none, it's just a bit sad
-
27. One Corner Within a Radius of 3 Meters
Japanese Movie - 2019
Short movie about private life and work. The ending may be considered as the start of a romantic relationship. It isn't dark, but not fluffy either so I put it in this list.
TW: forced coming out
-
28. Himitsu: The Top Secret
Japanese Drama - 2025, 11 episodes
Quite dark crime drama about an innovative technique to solve murders. As for "Double" this drama is a psychological thriller with a BL subplot (which is more subtle than in "Double").
TW: murders, violence, blood, corpes, sexual contents, people getting hurt (a lot)
-
29. Senpai, This Can’t Be Love!
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Underated japanese BL with a light, adorable plot. Very innocent and fluffy with an interesting ending.
TW: none
-
30. Konse mo Ochiru, Koinaraba.
Japanese Drama - 2025, 27 episodes
-
31. Quite Ordinary
Japanese Movie - 2011
I thought I would hate this short movie, but it was way better than I expected. The plot is a bit weird and lowkey controversial but understable. It might seems creepy at first but it'a a realistic story with a deep meaning: even ordinary happiness is difficult to find.
TW: manipulation
-
32. Asagi to Hiromi: Ashita e no Tobira
Japanese Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
Short and sad BL drama. It isn't as disturbing as other titles in this list, but still lowkey dark. I don't have a good relationship with "doomed yaoi" so I really hoped in an happy ending until the very end.
TW: mention of death
-
33. Naked Dining: Love, Life and Liberation
Japanese Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
This is so cute ♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝♡. Not a lot of people liked it, but I've rewatched it so many times. It's funny, light and based on misunderstanding. The title sounds weird and the story starts in a peculiar way: a man accidentally flashes his neighbour while eating naked. I loved how specific they have been while describing the recepies, so I can recreate them.
TW: partial nudity
-
34. Shiba San and Meow Chan
Taiwanese Movie - 2018
A bittersweet story about two coworkers: one is a 11 years old who has been abandoned by his mother and the other is a man in a relationship with a married man. Both are lonely but they have each other.
TW: sexual content (implied, main couple), cheating, child abandonment, unhealthy relationship, mild violence
-
35. Smells Like Green Spirit
Japanese Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
Yes, I know this would be emotional. Yes, I know it would be dark as well. But, wow, this was deeply disturbing. I found myself staring at the screen multiple times, unable to do anything because I was so extremely shocked. And keep in mind that I got a lot of spoilers of this drama so I knew that some stuff would happen.
TW: sexual references, homophobia, transphobia, rape, pedophilia
-
36. Old Fashion Cupcake
Japanese Drama - 2022, 5 episodes
A perfect mix between a sugarly sweet love story and the depressing life of a middle aged man. Everything in this drama is both cute and sad at the same time. I tought until the very end that we will get a sad ending.
TW: nothing bad, just a bit sad.
-
37. Takara's Treasure
Japanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
Lovely BL that deals with family issues. It got a lot of hate, but I really don't understand why, to me is such a good drama. Again, it's a light, fluffy and innocent BL.
TW: mention of death.
-
38. Takara's Treasure Spin Off
Japanese Special - 2024, 1 episode
-
39. Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice but to Kiss!
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Comedy about an extremely unlucky guy and a very lucky one. It's that type of very fluffy and innocent japanese BL, with a huge dose of comedy.
TW: none
-
40. We’re Both Grooms
Japanese Special - 2022, 1 episode
I would say that the BL part is more a subplot, since the main plot is about getting accept by your family.
TW: homophobia
-
41. The 8.2 Second Rule
Japanese Drama - 2022, 5 episodes
Short, funny and userful? (if you need some dessert recepies, please watch it).
TW: none
-
42. BL Drama no Shuen ni Narimashita: Crank In Hen
Japanese Special - 2024, 1 episode
Funny, surreal and generally weird BL. It's based on comedy and doesn't deal with any kind of strong topic.
TW:none
-
43. I Became the Main Role of a BL Drama Season 2
Japanese Drama - 2025, 6 episodes
I have mixed feeling about this one. Everything felt very similar to season 1. It was funny, light and everything. The slow burn between them was very good but they ruined it in the ending, in my opinion. Maybe I have misinterpreted the scene, but they go from "I can't look at you because you're shirtless" to sleeping together. Like, they talk about taking their time for everything and then this. I don't really understand.
TW: non graphic NSFW
-
44. My Love Mix-Up!
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
This is sooo good. It has a very simple yet interesting plot, mostly based on misundersatnding. It's that type of fluffy BL, with a straight secondary couple. I loved the characters and the dynamics between them. It deserves a second season.
TW: none
-
45. Our Dining Table
Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
Super duper lovely BL. It's one of those drama in which everything goes well in the end. It truly makes you feel better.

46. Our Dining Table Spin Off
Japanese Special - 2023, 1 episode
-
47. Dosei no Shinyu wo Suki ni Natte Shimatta
Japanese Drama - 2024, 1 episode

TW:none
-
48. His: I Didn't Think I Would Fall in Love
Japanese Drama - 2019, 5 episodes
Drama with a BL subplot. It's mostly about teenagers understanding themselves and their emotions.
TW:none
-
49. Itsuka no Kimi e
Japanese Movie - 2007
Very old BL that I watched because of one ML. It's a quite weird and unpredictable story.
TW: mention of death, alcholism (?), poor mental health
-
50. Living with Him
Japanese Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
Fluffy, cute and based on an extremely healthy relationship. People found it boring, but I think is so good that it doesn't really matter.
TW: none
-
51. I Cannot Reach You
Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
This is, again, a lovely japanese BL. A teen falls in love with his best friends but a lot of events make it impossible for them to confess. The only thing that I didn't like that much is one specific scene but maybe I have misinterpreted it.
TW: none
-
52. I Just Want to See You
Japanese Drama - 2022, 4 episodes
This one has a beautiful cinematography. Most of what happen has a deeper meaning. It all revolvs around the concept of tadpoles: they aren't eggs but not frogs either; in the same way, the MLs aren't children (but not adults either) and they have a relationship that feels almost like a friendship.
TW: none
-
53. Mr. Mitsuya's Planned Feeding
Japanese Drama - 2024, 7 episodes
Romance based on a big age gap, but it's absolutely not controversial. A man falls in love with a much older chef but things between them are complex.
TW: none
-
54. Minato's Laundromat
Japanese Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Cute, funny, fluffy and a bit controversial. The age gap is... something. Their realtionship is very healthy and I could go over the big age gap since it's a fictional work. Also, their relationship is very innocent, so I turned a blind eye on it.
TW: none
-
55. Minato Shouji Coin Laundry Season 2
Japanese Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
I'm usually not a fan of second seasons of BLs and in this case they ruined this show to me. I'm sorry, but that "sexy" scene in the end was out of place. It felt very forced but also somewhat controversial, since the huge age gap between them. I really don't like when they force sexy scenes in an extremely innocent: I get that they want to satisfy the pubblic, but it just doesn't fit with the rest of the story.
TW: non graphic NSFW
-
56. My Strawberry Film
Japanese Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
Drama with a BL subplot: it's mostly about a group of teenager dealing with emotional issues and unrequired love (even if I truly believe everyone could be happy if they started being honest about their feelings). It has an incredible cinematography and I still hope in a second season.
TW: mention of death
-
57. Dominant Yakuza and Wimpy Corporate Slave
Japanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
I was expecting it to be very spice, but it a super innocent and cute one. It's about a sad akward man who falls in love with a yakuza (who's head over heels for him after their first meeting).
TW: violence, rape attempt
-
58. Mr. Sahara & Toki-kun
Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
This drama is both controversial and adorable at the same time. It a student x teacher romance, and they start having feeling for each other when the teen is 17. In my opinion, since their relationship is very healthy, pure and the age gap isn't that big, it still a bery good drama. The best part is that even the secondary couple is quite controversial, since they are step brothers (one of them got adopted after their parents' deaths and they never felt or acted like brothers).
TW: none, just a bit controversial
-
59. Sono Koi, Jihanki de Kaemasu ka?
Japanese Movie - 2023
Super akward men falling in love. Short and cute.
TW: none
-
60. Sugar Dog Life
Japanese Drama - 2024, 9 episodes
Japanese BL based on cooking (and falling in love). Cute and lovely romance with a quite big (but not controversial) age gap.
TW: none
-
61. Suki Suki Wan Wan!
Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
This is somewhere between an actual BL and a bromance. There's a confession scene but, for some reasons, it isn't considered a BL. It's absolutely adorable but the ending ruined everything. As I said, the story is fluffy and everything goes really well until the tragic ending. Some people described it as bittersweet, but to me it was only bitter.
TW: mention of death
-
62. Tonde Saitama
Japanese Movie - 2019
This is... something. Is basically a parodistic BL even if the casted a girl in the role of one of the MLs. Basically they all act like if she's a man. It's a pretty weird choice, but somehow it worked.
TW: none
-
63. A Man Who Defies the World of BL
Japanese Special - 2021, 1 episode
First season of a parodistic BL. The main plot revolvs around Mob, who lives in the world of BL but doesn't want to get in a relationship with a man. Beside that, the drama is full of other tiny stories about secondary couples. Between all the season, this is the most "explicit": there's a little bit of nudity and some sexual contents.
TW: nudity, sexual contents (secondary couples)
-
64. A Man Who Defies the World of BL Season 2
Japanese Special - 2022, 1 episode
Second season, which is pretty similar to the first.
TW: some sexual references, nothing else
-
65. A Man Who Defies the World of BL 2024
Japanese Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
Third season, and the plot is pretty much similar to the others, beside the introduction of a new character. Still hilarious.
TW: sexual references
-
66. Kimi to Nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo
Japanese Drama - 2023, 5 episodes
This one has a wonderful cinematography. It's that type of drama that makes you feel empty afer finishing it.
TW: sexual references (even if I guess I should say abuse since it's a grown man using a teen)
-
67. Does the Flower Bloom?
Japanese Movie - 2018
Slow, nostalgic and sad BL. Again, there's a big age gap, but it doesn't really feel like that since the MLs are very similar (I don't know if this makes sense lol).
TW: mention of family issues and past trauma
-
68. Let's Eat Together, Aki and Haru
Japanese Movie - 2023
Movie about two roomates who like cooking together. It's a slice of life and some romance hints. There's a confession scene, even if it gets interruped, so I put it in this list.

TW: sexual references

75. Conceited BL
Japanese Drama - 2025, 8 episodes
About one year ago, I watched on tiktok this very short video about two man in the subway accidentally falling on each other at each stop. This drama starts from a very similar concept (or maybe it was made by the same people?) but the plot is truly unpredictable.
TW: none
-
76. Same Difference
Japanese Movie - 2014
Imagine you need to adapt an hardcore smutty yaoi into a live action witha budget of like 3 dollars. I think that's how they made it because this is really the weirdest thing I've ever seen in my whole life. So, first of all, I'm pretty much sure that it is based on a very explicit yaoi, BUT they removed all the spicy parts, so the final result is a quite innocent love story. It is, also, a parodistic BL and a LOT of absurd things happen in the story. It is also a very low budget production, which made some scenes even funnier. The only thing that I think they should have bought are curtains tho. The are a lot of scenes in that they are almost naked and the windows reflect a full body image (つω⊂* )
TW: sexual references
-
77. Kiss x Kiss x Kiss: Love ii Shower
Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes

83. Lost in the Woods
Thai Drama - 2025, 7 episodes
A very unique thai BL (it's way different from others I've watched) set in a beautiful jungle. It's very realistic, but not too sad.

84. Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island
Chinese Drama - 2025, 7 episodes
The cinematography in this one is simply gorgeous. The first three episodes are, in my opinion, the best ones, even if the don't really have a plot.
TW: internalised homophobia.

94. The Eclipse
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Thai Bl with a very complex plot. Even if it isn't exactly the type of BL I like, it's very good and the main couple is so adorable (I mean First and Khao have a lot of chemistry even in real life).
TW: non grafic NSFW (main couple), mention of death, suicide

95. The Usual Night
Japanese TV Show - 2022, 10 episodes
It never happen to me to watch somenthing like this. It's basically a mockumentary about a real group: most of what happen is (clearly) scripted, but some parts of it are real. To be honest, I'm not really sure what was the main "goal" of this drama. I tought it would be some sort of fanservice contents for fans (which is partially true) or a way to show how hard is idol's life, but in the end it looks like a slice of life drama with a BL subplot. The BL part is short and incomplete, but still the most interesting. I don't want to say that everything else was boring, but only this part had a huge potential while the rest was what you could se in an actual documentary.
TW: non grafic NSFW (between secondary, straight couples)

96. Trapped in Osaka
Chinese Drama - 2025, 4 episodes
Weird, caotic, crazy, sweet and unexpected. This drama is mix between a sad, serious drama and a sexy comedy. It starts in a funny way, then it turns dark and then it gets cute again. The MLs are both insane , driven by unruly emotions. They push each other at the very limit, without caring about the future. One specific scene is very controversial, but it does somehow fit in the rest of the plot and with the characters. The ending, on the other hand, felt out of the place. It's a wonderful ending, don't get me wrong, but they needed way more time to "get there". Two minutes before, they were in a messy situation, incapable of understand their feeling, at the point that one of them trys to rape the other. But in the ending you can see a completely different situation, with them sweetly taking care of each other. It's the type of ending I was expecting but it felt very rushed since what happened two minutes before. However, the drama itself is very short, so I get why they rushed the ending.
TW: sexual assault attempt, alchol abuse, mention of death, self harm, suicide attempt

97. Rainbow Boys
Japanese Movie - 2008
Long short movie (around 1 h long) about three guys falling in love with the same boy. This movie isn't exactly a BL, it's more like an LGBT themed short, with a lot of comedy. However, even if it's funny most of the time, it deals with some strong topics.
Note: maybe it's just me getting a weird vibe from this movie, but a lof of scenes were clearly made just for fanservice. Which isn't a problem, until they show a rape for a little bit too long just beacause a good looking boy is getting stripped. It also contains some nudity, which made me think that, unlike usual BLs, it might has been made for a male audience. I mean, a gay male audience. So, be ready to get mooned.
TW: rape, sexual assault, nudity

98. Tetsuo: The Iron Man
Japanese Movie - 1989
I don't really know what to say about this movie. It's basically a fever dream (a nightmare I would say) with an extremely confusing plotline. I put it in this list because of interpretation I gave to the movie: a man is forced to watch another man during a sexual act which reawaken his homosexual desires. This results in a physical transformation thta brings him closer and closer to the other man; in the end the become one person (which can be both interpreted as somenthing sexual or gnerally like a romantic bond).
TW: extreme violence, explicit sexual contents, blood, gore, childen abuse

99. 10Dance
Japanese Movie - 2025
For the first time in my life, I watched a BL just bceause it's extremely popular. And it was a good choice. This movie has a wonderful cinematography and most of the scenes aren't relevant to the plot but aesthetically pleasant. But the story is absolutely incomplete: the ending is rushed and their love story is a mess since the MLs are unpredictable and sometimes kinda toxic with each other.
TW: nudity, verbal violence
