MY JOURNEY | Chinese Mini Dramas
I'm absolutely hooked on these Chinese mini dramas - they're ridiculously entertaining. The more I watch, the more they capture my heart. Some of them are so well done and would deserve a full length series, while others have very questionable quality but are still a guilty pleasure. I love how compact and to-the-point they are. They manage to deliver so much drama and romance in a short time.
This list contains all the mini dramas I have seen. I add some information and thoughts about them.

1. Destiny
Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes
Sometimes all it takes is the right person to make us feel comfortable again, to give us courage and allow our true emotions to surface. This a cute mini drama about the love between an idol and a documentary director. It has a lot of feelings, believable and sweet romance, convincing main characters and only minimal dramatic events. ML loves to tease and flirt with FL right from the start. There's a lot of tension going on. What I liked best was their open communication. They talk to each other about their feelings and worries. They trust each other, so there's no chance of misunderstandings.

2. Marry Me Again
Chinese Drama - 2025, 31 episodes
I have to admit, the plot is ridiculous, but somehow that absurdity makes it oddly captivating. What really shines is the undeniable chemistry between the leads, and let's be real, the frequent hot kissing scenes in almost every episode are a major highlight. It's a kiss-addicted couple. I have rarely seen anything like it before. I also like the funny, cheerful and often kinda shameless behavior of the FL. Just grab some snacks, shut off your brain and enjoy this absurd and spicy adventure.

3. Grab Your Love
Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes
The FL and ML are sharp-minded and cool. They have very good chemistry. But what really adds to the charm are the fun side characters - the little boy and the FL's (gay) best friend are wonderful. Even the SML is great. He totally surprised me. The way the supporting cast complements the main duo is fantastic, and they bring their own brand of humor and warmth to the story. It feels very lively.

4. Madam
Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes
Republican Era combined with fantasy really drew me in. They should make more dramas with this combination. It brought back memories of the romantasy books I devoured as a teenager. FL is strong-willed and capable. She is supported by two dragons who appear in the form of two hot young men. There's a lot of bickering between them. The plot is exciting and some interesting surprises await.

5. Bound by Sin
Chinese Drama - 2025, 20 episodes
What really stands out is the power dynamic between FL and ML - she's the boss, and he's totally whipped. As her bodyguard, he's got a job to do, but it's clear he's also got a serious crush on her. FL's got this confident, take-charge vibe that ML is totally drawn to, and their relationship is all the more interesting and dramatic because of it.

6. Dominion and Devotion
Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes
A really well produced historical costume drama about a young woman who is appointed emperor and has to keep her true gender a secret. She is a strong advocate for other women and wants to enact fair laws for them. She is assisted by a young, handsome eunuch and it doesn't take long before unexpected feelings are awakened in both of them. Exciting palace intrigue with a romantic side plot.

7. The Secret Contract of the Witch
Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes
This is a modern fantasy drama about witches and magic. The FL is a strong and goal-oriented witch and the ML is a soft and kind professor of astrophysics. They are soulmates without a doubt. I really enjoyed their cute relationship. There is also a psycho side couple who are sometimes entertaining and sometimes rather annoying.

8. Orange Soda
Chinese Drama - 2024, 20 episodes
It was okay, but honestly I was team SML from the beginning. I would have found this pairing more exciting.

9. Rang Ta Jiang Luo
Chinese Drama - 2025, 25 episodes
This drama is about the love between step-siblings. I wasn't so impressed by the romance though. The most interesting aspect of this drama for me was that FL suffered from "touch starvation". I hadn't heard of that before. It refers to a state of physical or emotional isolation where a person lacks sufficient physical touch. This leads to feelings of loneliness.
