The absolute OG. Nothing to say about this one other than it is perfect and absolutely changed my perception of what love must be. This began my Chinese drama journey and I return to it every six months.

It's ironic that even though Jin Mi can't feel love, my heart aches watching this from start to finish.

  • A Love So Beautiful

    3. A Love So Beautiful

This is the perfect school-life drama. So sweet it'll give you a toothache, and so hilarious you'll be howling.

An absolute chef's kiss show. Makes you cry like a baby (in a good way) and want to call your parents and tell them you love them after.

  • Eternal Love of Dream

    5. Eternal Love of Dream

Dilireba looks so stunning here. Sometimes I rewatch just to see her face in this show.

  • Story of Yanxi Palace

    6. Story of Yanxi Palace

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 70 episodes

    10

This show gives me the most complicated feelings. Harem fights are so deadly, and the scheming oh-so-addictive. This show also has some of the best costumes, set designs of any show on this list.

  • Joy of Life

    7. Joy of Life

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 46 episodes

    10

So hilarious, so intelligent, incredible, superb. This is a can't tear your eyes away from the screen show, that once you finish, you immediately want to rewatch. Every actor, down to maids, grandmas, passers-by on the street is an A-lister who they have roped into making this bizarre yet flawless show.

  • The Romance of Tiger and Rose

    8. The Romance of Tiger and Rose

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

This show hits different. Its premise and world-building is so novel that I'm always drawn back in. Not to mention Zhao Lusi is a dream of a female lead.

  • Le Coup de Foudre

    9. Le Coup de Foudre

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 35 episodes

    9.0

Can't explain this choice. Janice Wu's smile - probably.

  • Idol Producer

    10. Idol Producer

    Chinese TV Show - 2018, 12 episodes

    10

Perfect cast. There's a reason that this show absolutely catapulted the careers of the top 20-30 contestants. So much chemistry, humour, talent and love.

  • Keep Running Season 5

    11. Keep Running Season 5

    Chinese TV Show - 2017, 13 episodes

If anyone remembers LuDi then you will know exactly why this season is here. The OTP of my young life. The cast have amazing chemistry here and the show radiates joy and hilarity. The locations they travel to are beautiful, the challenges are exciting, and the show is really finding its stride here.
