ML is just like, batshit crazy

I wanted this to be a BL free zone, because a batshit crazy lead is the standard, not the exception, but this drama...how the fuck did it get made? Who approved this? The book is even worse! Read it, it's amazing. Both leads are deliciously terrible people.

The origin of this obsession for me. No redemption arc. 严子贤 can't take no for an answer. Everyone dies. I've watched this like 10 times. I'd say trigger warning for rape but if you're looking at this list it's not an issue for you.

My max rating for verticals is 9.5, this is the one and only exception. 赵振栋 is a lunatic until the very last scene. No redemption arc

Re-steal the bride, everyone dies. 李菲 has both a beautiful crying face, and can hold crazy face forever without blinking.

The vertical version of Tale of Love and Loyalty, 申浩男 crying and losing his mind

ML seeks revenge on the people who killed FL but he hallucinates so hard that he is still able to interact with her. I love seeing 申浩男 cry.

Double identity, forced abortion, contract prostitution, no redemption arc until the last few minutes. Love in the Edge of Divorce/Introduction to the Ex Wife is the watered down version, and it's so watered down I don't even have it on this list

Two psychopaths trying to heal the other one, 张翅 can really beg with his eyes.

DD/bg, this version is the most Wearing A Charming Gentleman Mask, but this man also forced his children into a death match where he then killed the one that survived anyway. This is also the one where they fuck the most.

ML is the villain of the book FL wrote so he acts accordingly, including killing her to take her eyeballs, falling in love with his mother, threatening to kill everyone in the book unless he gets a happy ending, etc.

FL is hired as a honeytrap to get ML to break up his engagement. ML decides the proper response is imprisoning her in a very nice apartment, because eventually she will learn to love him for real. The set up is "fall in love with your rapist" but it never quite gets there.

Lots of ML lines are delivered while staring directly into the camera. Really makes the crazy feel real. ML needs FL to be the medication for his blindness, and she needs to apply the medication to him with her lady bits.

A woman is reborn and decides to tame the "break her legs and chain her to the furniture" ML who imprisoned her because he killed himself at her funeral.

Build your own psychopath. 黄星 is raised to not have feelings.

angsty xianxia, 黄靖洲 needs 杨弋墨's blood and heart to survive

This one jumps right into an abusive relationship in the first scene. The initial set up is that FL is forced into sex work, ML buys her and punishes her for being dirty. Chaos ensues.

严子贤 plays two people, an evil twin and a has-good-intentions twin.

Cute and funny! Two red flags find someone who matches their crazy. Both leads are trying to get the other one to kill them.

张翅 is a reborn "break her legs and chain her to the furniture" type and needs to hide The Crazy.

A "break her legs and chain her to the furniture" type acts like a white rabbit.

马小宇 as the psychopath ex, FL gets a face swap, but it's 2ML's dead wife's face, and then he's like, please come live with me.

Fakecest. The FL experience is that ML is abusive, but everyone is lying to both of them, and aML is actually the good guy. 张翅 with big crybaby eyes again.

Secret step-sibling love, but ML is just in it for revenge against her, and when she leaves he can not let go, to the point of just showing up on campus one day...in England. Rich people problems.

I'm conflicted about this one because ML is only an unrepentable asshole because he's stupid. The people around him keep manipulating him into abusing FL and he just believes them every time. I feel such sympathy for him because his motivation is not red flag, but he absolutely deserves a bad ending because he sucks.

ML is only a dumpster fire for the first quarter but he's so bad I'm keeping it here anyway. FL ends up almost doing porn and the only way to get out is to offer herself to ML for protection because he's a gangster boss.

Mr can't-take-no-for-an-answer throws money at the problem

Seduce the fiancé's evil uncle. Being the "bad guy" is 沉思's comfort zone

A woman is reborn and decides to tame the "break her legs and chain her to the furniture" ML who imprisoned her because he killed himself at her funeral.

FL sells herself to ML to get experimental medicine for her dying sister but he only gives her a few pills each time, and condems her for being a sex worker.

梁思伟 is a reborn "break her legs and chain her to the furniture" type and needs to hide The Crazy.

FL is wearing her own book and 王译磊 is the unhinged villain

ML is a vampire. This might be cheating; is it even possible for a vampire to be anything but a red flag? OK, Angel from Buffy, but that because he was cursed with having his soul returned.

Mercenary ML wins FL as a trophy prize in an underground fight club, then disappears for three years without a word, while she fakes amnesia to investigate her sister’s murder.

In short: 24 episodes of "he's dangerous to everyone else but soft for her," which is just a red flag wearing a very flattering leather jacket

Fall in love with your rapist, who is also your brother (fakecest)

Torture her in the name of protecting her from the person who wants to kill her. Unfortunately there is a very long redemption arc.

Stepmother fantasy, another 黄靖洲 and 杨弋墨 collab

This is one where I don't think it's explicit about the ML level of crazy, like, sure he broke his own leg to get her sympathy, but he also he fell in love with FL at 16 and then broke up every relationship she ever had until he could finally catch her.

I was really hoping for a more sinister motivation, there was a really good back story that could have easily been changed to a serial manipulative psychopath thing. They went for a more everyone had their own demons.

fakecest, coercive consent, chain her to the furniture type, redemption arc takes up about the last 1/4th

Mother in law says FL must lose her virginity tonight, or else! So she seduces the fiancé's evil uncle 甄子琦

陈瑞丰 keeps a contract prostitute for 3 years, stalks her when she leaves.

A "break her legs and chain her to the furniture" type is reborn and needs to hide The Crazy

Just 申浩男 again, choking the woman he loves, keeping her as a canary, the typical story.

FL is homeless asks ML for help, ML is like sure, but guess how she pays rent... ML staged an assassination attempt on himself, and gets seriously injured, to win back FL because he fucked up the relationship so badly.

It's Chinese Republican Era so ML is red flag by default but this guy enslaved and traumatized his amnesiac ex girlfriend because...he still loves her.

Japanese storytelling is something else. Do you want to feel a deep empathy and understanding with a literal stalker and genuinely hope he gets the girl? Here you go.

Another self-aware stalker.

A puppy bites the hand that raised him

DD/bg, probably the highest quality in terms of production, but lease memorable in terms of lunatic ML

DD/bg, this one is the most crybaby

There's like 10 versions of this one and it's so much fun, he's not a certified red flag dumpster fire in all of them but for sure this one and the Lan Bo version but I need to find that one with subtitles because reading Chinese takes me fucking forever and I got too tired to finish

The ML murders his long time girlfriend, five years later she comes back for revenge with a new identity. ML is a mob boss kid and FL becomes an assassin.

The first act is true red flag lunatic revenge behavior, the second act is an orphaned puppy, a sweet interlude, and third act is back to red flag lunatic but now he's motivated by love.

ML is a philanthropist publicly but doing illegal shit on the side, has an unmedicated mental illness and can't control the red flag behavior, FL has some childhood trauma keeping her in the relationship and then 2ML blackmails her with spicy photos.

ML plays twins, one is pure evil, frames his brother into prison, marries his pregnant fiancé so he can beat and threaten her, etc. Evil twin dies, less evil twin gets out of jail and assumes that FL abandoned him and had a kid with his twin brother so he goes all out trying to get revenge on her.

DD/bg, this one is the most "break her legs and chain her to the furniture"

The sweetest version of DD/bg, this one is the most bratty and emphasizes the "grooming a minor" element and makes the whole drama so uncomfortable to watch. ML isn't a true asshole, but in this version is the most explicit about the fact that he trained his 14 year old wife to act that age until she died. It really gave me the ick but it's 黄宥天 so I stuck it out.

沉思 is a self-aware asshole and he's so good at it. So satisfying.

Just look at the reviews: Disgusted & Horrified, sadomasochistic torture porn, Triggering Tale of Abuse, Don't waste your time.

The level of batshit crazy ML is very satisfying.

FL sells herself to ML to get experimental medicine for her dying sister but he only gives her a few pills each time, and condems her for being a sex worker.

A woman is reborn and decides to tame the "break her legs and chain her to the furniture" ML who imprisoned her because he killed himself at her funeral.

10 out of 10 unrepentant asshole ML. Treats FL like shit because he thinks SFL is FL.

Chinese republican era version of woman is reborn and decides to tame the "break her legs and chain her to the furniture" ML who imprisoned her because he killed himself at her funeral.

This premise has so much potential, but the budget just just too small and the ending gave me whiplash.

代高政 is perfect a perfect red/black flag here; delusional, manipulative, abusive, believes he's not a bad guy, etc. If he was the main character this would be 10/10
