This list will give you information on the order of the series along with the material they are adapted from (prequels, volumes, side stories, extras. etc.).

I would suggest starting with the main series before starting the prequels if you are new to the series

currently there is no adaptation for Main Story - Volume 8: The Finale 盗墓笔记8·大结局（上） & 盗墓笔记8·大结局（下)
currently there is no adaptation for Sequel - Volume 11: Ten Years Later 盗墓笔记·十年
all series are written by xu lei (also kennedy xu or nan pai san shu) ((徐磊 / 南派三叔 ))

* to be noted: this drama seems more of a remake from volumes 1 & 2 -- also xu lei has previously stated he wanted to remake the whole main plot with the same cast so while this could be based on the short story Wu Xie's private note it could very much be a place for new fans to start as a) it follows the same storyline as the lost tomb(2015) & the lost tomb 2(2019) b) according to others it's a better adaptation from the books and c) a second season is already filmed with the same cast which can lead to less confusion due to continuous cast changes in majority of the previous dmbj seasons
