Great love story going through 9 lifetimes. Lots of angst and surprises. Amazing chemistry between Cheng Yi and Crystal Yuan portraying Xi Feng and Xuanji. Hao Shen is hella annoying. Great OST,  Watched in 2021.

Discovered Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu. Love the story, ost (A thousand year of Search by A Lin and Yearning by Mao Bu Yi), and amazing chemistry between Shanggu and Bai Jue. Watched in 2021.

Unexpectedly good. Discovered Wang TaLu - captivating performance of Lord Bo. Sad tragic love story between Ma Zhaixing and her Wolfie - a match made in heaven.  Amazing chemistry and amazing OST. Watched in 2022.

infamous bath scene between Fuyao and prince Wuji - great chemistry. Interesting story, badass Fuyao. Also great OST. Watched in 2022.

Discovered Ren Jialun and Seven Tang. Seven Tang and funny and cute, great chemistry between Jinxia and her Lord Lu. Lots of cute and romantic moments, love surprise on last episode as well. Love the OST. Watched in 2022.

Has to watch another Ren Jialun drama (tried Sword and the Brocade because of Seven Tang but couldn't continue, a bit slow, didn't like male lead). Entertaining, nice OST as well. Watched in 2022.

This is such a heart wrenching love story. Great chemistry between Li Chengyin (Cheng Xingxu) and 9th princess Xiaofeng (Peng Xiaoran). They were so in love, but due  to other people's manipulations,  Li Chengyin chose to betray Xiaofeng. In the end, he lost his heart forever. Also love the OST. Watched in 2022.

3rd Ren Jialun watch. A bit slow in the beginning and not much of a romance. But a great story, superb performance and love the OST.  Love the chemistry between Ye Chong and his adopted brother Lin Xiao Zhuang (Liu Yue Yi - Hao Chen in L&R, and Tian Qi in ALP). Also great acting by Liu Huan (Chi Cheng) and Li Ting Zhe (Miyamoto). Watched in 2022.

My #1 drama of all time. Great plot, Hu Ge is just captivating and Mei Changsu (a bonus to see glimpses of Zhang Zhe Han playing the young Lin Shu). Love the camaraderie, loyalty and devotion  in the story. Wang Kai is also great in playing the crown prince and Lin Shu's best friend.  Also love Leo Wu playing Fei Liu. Also love the OST. Watched in 2022.

Very funny and cute. Helped me move on after the Wolf. Watched in 2021.

Watched this after watching Hu Ge in NIF. Love the story, fight scences and OST.  Love Hu Ge and Ariel Lin portraying Guo Jing and Rong'er.  Even though Yang Kang is a bad guy, his relationship with Mu Nian Ci is so sweet and sad. Watched in 2022.

Perhaps Xu Kai's best role - Lord Fuheng.  Interesting fast paced, no slow moments. Sad love story between Wei Ying Luo and Fuheng, and Ming Yu and Hai Langcha. Also love the beautiful and magnanimous Empress Fuca Rongyin. Love OST. Watched in 2021.

Watched this right after Yanxi Palace. Enjoyed the opposite storyline. Great Acting by Zhou Xun (Ruyi), Jing Chao (Ling Yunche) - so much angst and sufferings.  Also love the OST. Watched in 2021.

Love the chemistry between Fanxing and Yuan Song (Victoria Song and Song Weilong). Great friendship between the twins and the other 2 girls as well. 3rd Modern cdrama. Watched in 2021

Beginning was interesting but dropped  from 2nd to last episode. It had become boring although watched this because Dylan Wang. Watched in 2021

Great story. Ruoxi, strong, thoughtful, loyal - her relationship with each of the princes (except 9th and crown prince) is endearing and loyal - 8th, 10th, 14th who initially didn't trust her but later is the other one that understood her the most, her best friend - 13h prince and 4th prince her one true love, Heart wrenching ending. Great performance by whole cast, specially Liu Shi Shi (Ruoxi), Nicky Wu (4th prince), Kevin Cheng (8th prince), Lin Geng Xin (14th prince) and Yuan Hong (13th prince). Watched in 2022.

Sad story...seems that royalties can not follow their hearts but have to think of the bigger picture, for the sake of the people, of the empire. Great performance by Cheng Yi. Watched in 2022.

Not the greatest. Just have to watch to recover from Scarlet Heart and to see them reunited. Beautiful OST though. Watched in 2022.

Really love this drama. So many twists and turns. Proof that true love can survive for hundred of thousands of years despite deity and human interferences, despite hardships and sufferings.  Ren Jialun and Yang Zi, love their sweet moments. Watched in 2022.

Surprise great performance by Evan Lin. And of course Chen Xingxu from Goodbye my Princess (the reason I watched this, not really a fan of republican era drama).  Watched in 2022.

Watched this because of Tan Songyun and she didn't disappoint. Lin Gengxin is the perfect domineering boss. Loved him in Scarlet Heart. Such a funny sweet story.  Love ending, sweet kiss with fireworks backdrop. Forever a gentleman, he even asked her if he could kiss her. Totally didn't like the Senior character.  He looks so arrogant and full of himself. This drama really makes my day. Watched in 2022.

Epic and great cinematography. Complex characters. Surprise great performance by Liu Yuning. Watched in 2022.

Totally totally love chemistry between King of Qin (Vin Zhang) and his consort Li (Dilraba). I'm now a fan of Dilraba - she can display so many ranges of emotions and is so pretty. Vin Zhang's performance is fascinating as the arrogant merciless king but so sweet and loving to his consort Li. Did not like Gong Sun Li's senior and first love (Jing Ke) at all!!!! Wish she didn't bored him a child, the King would have trusted her more - he could never get past that fact. People  may say that she loves Jing Ke, but I still think that she loves the King's wholeheartedly.

Heard it's one of the top 10 of all times. Watched this because of Lin Geng Xin (my 3rd drama watch of his - the brave handsome 14th prince in Scarlet Heart). Totally love it.  At first it was so hard to choose between Yan Xun and Yu Wen Yue. But so glad in the end she chose Yu Wen Yue. Although the end is "bitin" but totally epic. Great performance by entire cast. Oh and Deng Lun was so funny in cute in this.

my 4th Lin Geng Xin drama. Surprisingly awesome. And Cass Gai so beautiful and  badass. They have great chemistry. So glad found this gem. The best thing, is you'd never guess who the bad guy is.

A total gem! Love scenes between Wan Mei and Chang An.  Qu Chu Xiao blew me away - such unconditional love, such stoic devotion. First found him interesting as Emperor Qian Long's 5th son in Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace. First Li Yi Tong's drama, love her! very natural acting. Gong Zi is another interesting chanracter.

And oh that song (both female and male version) .... Qu Chu Xiao voice in the male version is unforgetable....

Came in this drama with no expectations and totally totally love it. Excellent story, amazing detailed battle/fighting scenes, great chemistry between the princess consort and her prince (omg can't believe I was rooting for 3rd prince and her- turned out 3rd prince is just weak foolish romantio). Zhang Yi Zi and  her prince are so perfect together despite all these people trying to break them up. Love OST as well specially the one sung by Elvis Wang.

Entertaining drama. Lots of martial arts scenes. Watch this because of Tony Yang (Qiao Feng), the dashing invincible hero and his other great sworn brothers Duan Yu and Xu Zhu. Lots of humour as well. There's an annoying character though, A'Zhi- she gets away with everything and even managed to stay with Qiao Feng. Some interesting stories regarding Duan Yu's father slews of women and Xu Zhu's parents love story.

Body swap.... interesting plot. Great chemistry between Main Couple. Steven Zhang is great even when playing FL's character trapped inside his body.  Funny sweet love story. Great stress relief and so glad to have this to fall back to while waiting for new release of LLTG.

Never been so captivated for an ongoing drama before. Hanging on to every single episode. Pretty different plot. Although rooting for Ling Buyi the whole time, feel sad for Lou Yao that he can not marry Cheng Shao Shao. Great character growth. Love to see the bonding and friendship between Shao Shao and Qi Qi and SS's brothers and cousin.

on ep 36 out of 56 episodes. Waiting for new releases on Viki is torture. Fave ep so far 28, 29 (how consort Yue put everyone in place, even the emperor's aunt). Aaww that epiosde with the engagement party, even the emperor, empress and consort Yue were there to the rescue.  Finally some sweet moments between Shao Shang and LBY.   That crying scene says it all.... and then SS drinking from the same cup as LBY...

Can clearly say my #1 drama of 2022.  LLTG part 2 is just amazing, love every single episode. Suspense in last 3 episodes and what a happy, heroic satisfying ending - Ling Buo Yi got out of the raging fire alive, went to save crown prince while leaving his most trusted soldiers and aidess behind to defend Huo village with Cheng Shao Shiang. In that last desperate moment as Huo village about to fall, come galloping CSS parents and family to the rescue.  Love the humour at the end between LBY's 2 aides and CSS brothers and sister in law. Perfect ending that shows the Cheng family all together with CSS, LBY and Yuan Shen.

Curious to see  if SS's cousin will end up with Yuan Shen - alas no :(

on ep 26/40. Beautiful scenery. Slow burn but great chemistry between Main Couple. First time watching Crystal Liu and Chen Xiao. Lots of humour, lots of sweet moments. Just hoping they'll end up together. Love Chen Xiao's smile and his gazes at Crystal.

Finished this drama and the ending got to be the most satisfying ever, not only because main couple get to live happily ever after but the satisfaction of seeing Ou Yang Xu being  punished. Got to call out one sweet scene when Qianfan had arranged to have the peach blossom petals dropped when he and Pan'er were in the boat ride.

just started. Watched this because of Steven Zhang. Interesting plot - parallel world. Love the child actor who plays Ji Jiang. Sometimes slow but overall great sci fi. It's hard to pick but I think I prefer the Pei Zhi of the cheese world.  Touching depiction of friendships, parental love, and a first love that defies time and space.

Good plot, lots of twists and turns. FL is smart and cute. Love chemistry between Qiu Yan and Liang Yi although their slow burn romance is killing me. On 29/34 episodes. First time watching a drama with noble manor politics - women's rankings in large noble households, arranged marriages, unrequited love.  One character that I hate, Qiu Min - the youngest daughter of the 2nd chamber in the Qiu manor. Even though she redeemed herself at the end, still don't like her.

Finished the drama. Was a quick watch for me since I just want to continue the binge because wanted to see MC finally getting together.  Sad death of Liang Yi male servant, and a twist at the end (which most viewers hate). I was fine with ending since they do end up happily ever after.

Love the intricate plot and complex characters. Quite a few romantic (sometime tragic) couple in this drama. First is Wuji's parents, then the Ming Cult's Left Messenger Yang Xiao and the Emei young and talented Xiao Fu, and then Buihui and Ling Yiting and of course Wu Ji and Zhao Min (so glad they can live happily ever after). Really hate the Abbess  Emei Sect leader who likes to emotionally blackmail her disciples to be obedient to her and leave the men they love. Shi Ruo could have lived happily with the love of her life but she was too stupid to blindly obey her sifu. Love the OST as well. Joseph Zeng and Chen Yu Qi (love her in this drama better than as the demon princess in Ashes of Love) are great as Wuji and the beautiful badass Mongolian princess Zhao Min.

Surprisingly love this. Yang Yang and Zhao Lusi - great chemistry.  Very entertaining. And no angst. Yang Yang is actually cute and not a bad actor at all. Zhao Lusi as usual nailed it. Glad watched this drama.

Sad love story between Du Xiaoxu and the dashing doctor. But she found love again with Li Yuzheng (Shawn Dou). Hope they will be happy ever after. Slow watch at first because was waiting for LLTG.

First half is really good and sad - sad when her doctor boyfriend died without them having a chance to reconcile after a misunderstanding caused by their parents. Their relationship is so sweet. And then the fluffy moments between Du Xiaoxu and Yuzheng when they first fall in love. Toward the third part is kinda draggy when Yuzheng solved the Yutian take over, and have to push Xiaoxu away to protect her. But last 2 episodes are great! Great character development between 2nd couple - Fanliu and Lin Xiang Yuan - touching moments, she finally grew up from a spoiled rich girl and he from an ambitious bad guy to responsible caring couple. The push and pull relationships between xiaoxu and yuzheng is at time infuriating but maybe depicts truer portrayal of how complex relationship can be. But I love the ending! They finally opened up and reconciled and accepted each other's flaws and work to be together.

Love OST as well.

Love this drama although not a lot of praises from cdrama subreddit ... drowned out by LLTG and LBFAD. Still prefer Zang Yi in AOL, but Cheng Yi is absolutely amazing in this drama (playing 3 different roles with 3 different personalities). Very angsty but happy ending. Great OST too. I would say this is his best yet - love it better than Love and Redemption.

Great amazing production. Best battle scenes in all the cdramas I've seen. Love the friendship of Asule, Yu Ran and Ji Ye. Sad love story between Yu Ran and Ji Ye but that makes the drama great. Love Ji Ye (Chen Ruo Xuan) and Yu Ran (Song Zu Er - she's amazing in Legally Romance too).

entertaining drama. Love Shawn Dou. Enough twists to keep me interested.

Watch this for Chen Ruo Xuan although he's just ok in this one.  You can't go wrong with Zhao Li Ying and Wang Yibo pairing. Actually it's fun to watch these 2 in this drama.

Hearbreaking, outstanding performance

Mixed feeling. Went in with a lot of expectations but was a bit disappointed. 

Love love this drama! Haven't felt these emotions since watched Bloody Romance. Crazy story of twisted revenge pitting 2 twin brothers against each other. Love everyone performance, sexy Prince Li (Aarif Rathman), cold and cruel Fu Chou yet crazily in love with Man Yao (princess Rong Le) played to the T by JIng Chao. Love the OST, specially the one sung by Aarif

Gave it a try but just can't get into the story. Maybe I'm bias, but Wallace Chung didn't do anything for me. Love the OST but can't get into story. Drop for now. Maybe just hard to move on after Princess Silver. But then I found Siege in Fog.

Just started and already hooked in the story. Amazing leads, nice discovery of Elvis Han. Finished but so sad. Outstanding performances by all 3 ML's - 2nd brother (love his demeanor, the way he wears his clothes, his anguished moments - Yi Lianshen (Zou Ting Wei in AOl); Li Wang Pin, the communist FL's ex boyfriend (Jeremy Tsui-his righteous moments, handsome but resolute towards his cause and his love for Qin Sang); and the dashing passionate talented 3rd brother Lan Po(Elvis Han). The ill fated love story of Lan Po and Qin Sang is one for the ages.

Half way. A fun watch. Love Vin Zhang. Esther Yu is not bad after all, just a bit of getting used to  all her cutesies stuffs. A simple story but had enough twists to keep me hooked.  Love this drama. Simple plot but kept me watching for more.  Esther is cute, and Vin Zhang so cute as ever.Not too interested in 2nd couple romance though. Little kid brother to Vin Zhang is great, annoying but great  :). And plot to take down Esther from a rival internet star (who bored a grudgefrom way back) is part of the interesting plot.

Just started but already like it from ep1. Mesmerizing - music, performance and everything about this drama! omg love this drama! Discovered Huang Xiao Ming. Yin Zheng and Tan Cian Ji (suave debonair 2nd master Cheng FenTai, flamboyant talented kind opera star Shang Xi Rui, talented handsome ill fated opera star Chen Ren Xiang). Love these 3 but specially Cheng Fen Tai and Shang Xi Rui - their bond is out of this world - they look so cute together. My other fave characters are Luo Qi - the proud writer who thinks Xi Rui is his muse and only wants to write plays for him, the ever devoted Xiao Lai. The story of 2 totally different personalities who come from totally different background who formed such a strong bond. Sad ending but left to imagination that some day they might meet again. But their devotion and care for each other is so touching.This is going my top 5 fave of all time! Great  OST by the way, specially the song "This Life".  Charmaine Sheh who plays Cheng Fen Tai is great too! She later has to accept the fact that Shang Xi Rui is not just a common performer, he has integrity and is loyal to those he loves.

Totally love this drama ! Fans of NIF - totally different story and characters but it's nice that they brought back some scenes of Mei Chang Su and  Fei Liu (young Leo Wu). Centers around one of the young kids that Fei Liu and Mei Chang Su initially trained - Xiao Ting Sheng who later was adopted by the last emperor and become the commander of the powerful Chang Lin Army. The first 20 + episodes show their family lives and such a close bond between and his 2 sons. even though the first one was adopted from another general's friend who died (committed treason). Also shows all the plots and schemings in the palace.

Putting off on watching this because to thought it can't compare to the first NIF - but was surprise that it is its own story, different but just as great. Actually picked this up because of Huang Xiao Ming (Pingzhang) and have liked Liu Hao Ran in Novoland: Eagle Flag (Pingjing). The chemistry betwen father and sons is great but also great chemistry between Pingzhang and his wife. Thats why was so sad and my tears were just flowing in later episodes. The brother's relationship and the father's relationship with his son is so touching! At least there are closures at the end not like a cliffhanger in NIF.

I think this is the best Shawn Dou drama to date. Heard mixed reviews but I totally love this drama (perhaps my most fave among the republican dramas that I've seen).  Love the different twists and turns and how 3rd Master is always able to come on top. Lin Hang Jing is just so stubborn and always misunderstand 3rd master Xiao Bei Cheng's sincere love for her. Love the brotherhood of 3rd master and 2best friends. Don't mind that ending leave us to our own interpretations.

My #2 drama of 2022 - Believe in the hype - it's so real. Absolutely beautiful heroic love story between Lighter and his Princess. Through trials and heartbreaks, and love and persistence, the princess got her Lighter/King back. Currently obsessed with OST. Perfect chemistry between Zhang Jing Xi and Chen Fei Yu.
