My Recs
I just wrote down why I liked them, you can read the descriptions by clicking on the titles. it might or might not help . you could also go in them blindly like I did and just she how it is
now not all of them are completely good, but I like these because they either had great moment that stood out to me, it was different from the usual dramas that I watch( in terms of concepts and clichés). OR it mad me cry and not many shows/dramas do
you should be able to find them either on Viki ( all except #4/5) or on Netflix (ONLY #4/5)
but so FOR SURE for sure I want you to watch #1-4
#5,7,9 have great first half but then it loose its momentum for it it does a time jump (like years later sort of thing) after it happens, you can feel that some episodes drag it's story just to fill in time. you should skip if you want to finish them but I really just want you just watch the beginning and you can do whatever you want after. just want to prepare you.
I don't sike you out of watching them, cause these are some of my favorites and they simply stood out to for the most part.

1. The Smile Has Left Your Eyes
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
-
2. Welcome to Waikiki
Korean Drama - 2018, 20 episodes
-
3. The King 2 Hearts
Korean Drama - 2012, 20 episodes
Was the first drama where the female lead where the female lead was legit a strong and levelheaded, both first introduce and when it ENDED
- so this drama is set in a FICTIONAL Korea: she's a top North Korean leader/agent of their special force unit.
- He's a prince in south Korea, so a player, an ass, and rich. They meet when both countries are attempts to form an alliance and join some competition as a team signifying that they can be united.
HELLA cute relationship development, even the second couple (prob even better) but I have re-watched it recently and it still holds up with some actually cool fight scenes for its time, I especially appreciate hers
IF YOU DO NOT CRY or get teary eyes at least once, then you have no heart.

4. One More Time
Korean Drama - 2016, 8 episodes
Love that MAIN LEAD Myungsoo
Honestly quick binge 8 episode for 30 mins, you can see it as a movie
If you don't get teary eye I WILL SMACK YOU for not appreciating my boy Kim Myungsoo
But for real I know it does not sound interesting, the whole reaping each day again and again. but it was really cute and the story was heartening,
it might be boring at first but it gets better by the 2nd episode
I would even watch it again with you cause it's that good (and on Netflix) but I do low key want to watch it again and I honesty might
https://www.netflix.com/title/80161700 the trailer WILL NOT convince you, but trust, its good
Again that boi MYUNGSOO is great

5. Beautiful Gong Shim
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
SERIOUSLY UNDERATED
- the main lead moves into rooftop guest room and basically likes her front the start
- the description says its about 2 sisters, that bitch wasn't even important
I never hear about so now you have to watch it
The main actor (Namgoong Min) is one of my favorites, he was the host for I-land
a romantic comedy but more on the lines of just being comedy
I DON'T see the "love triangle" as an actually one, mostly cause I don't have that second lead situation like she was pretty, although that bromance can be competition.
It's funny throughout it but it looses and drags it self out at the end so that a down side, but I still love it, mostly cause a cutesy feel good drama and the couple has genuinely funny moment together.
for real, the dad is the funniest character

6. Chocolate
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Now this drama, it did have its flaws
- It didn't have a lot of focus on the romantic relationship of the main leads
- It can feel slow and boring, even taking me a week to finish the first 2 episodes, stopping every 30 mins or so
- It goes through time jumps like nobody's business and feel useless at times, honestly
- Has a lot of clichés, yet I don't mind some
BUT STILL IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRAMAS AND FOR ONE HUGE REASON
I could not stop crying while watching it
GENUINELY I think I cried almost every episode especially once it reached the hospice, prob cause I was on my period and wanted to cry hehe
*but for reals it’s does have it's heavy moments so I warned you

7. Angel Eyes
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
-This was one of my firsts drama of when I was for real for real watching (or binging) dramas and why I love it so much, even it’s not the best
-OMG THE OST it's one of my favorites, the music in this drama is why I first started to notice the soundtracks in dramas. How they are made just for that drama as even the opening song is so good.
- So biggest reason and I feel like its a spoiler(which shouldn't cause its in the description), but the the main girl is blind and that its. That what makes it so pure and cute when watching their relationship develop.
----Now I LOVE THEIR LOVE STORY, in the beginning and it is still one of my favorites but once the time jump happens, it's up to you if you want to continue. The side characters are actually really great and the story isn’t bad, but it gets just dragged on for a few episodes in the middle which loses its greatness.
-Honestly hope you at least try watching it just for the beginning. This FMV is good so you get a gist of it : https://youtu.be/aw9aBIT3HGk

Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes
-
9. Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup: 12 Years Reunion
Korean Drama - 2014, 26 episodes
Such a cute high school first love and coming of age story
Honestly idk what to say, the first half is gold and fucking cute
She's new and becomes his desk partner, then cliché cliché cliché to TF you mean

10. Autumn's Concerto
Taiwanese Drama - 2009, 21 episodes
now this is the only non-Korean drama on the list cause I REALLY JUAT WANT YOU WATCH IT, I would put it all the way up to #5 for you to watch, as similar to '12 years promise' and 'angel eyes' it has a great start but a time jump happens and then drags the story and ends up making it loose its heart.
I feel like you might have watched but don't know , Bri has watched this one and loved it too, so now you have to do the same.
- he's rich, player, and a fucking ass, she's poor, shy, quiet, and in a ROUGH home
- he makes a bet that she can get a kiss from the 'unadaptable girl' (she rejects everyone) and that is how it starts. yes cliché and we love that, but there is those episode in the middle where I simply love how she supports him when things are rough and that is so heartwarming that it made it one of my favorites.
FYI I keep binging the first half and crying
you can watch it on both Viki and Netflix
