My Favorites
aka My Rewatch List
Most are on the lighter side of drama land. (Humor, happy endings, friendships.) Relatively lower on the angst/politics/melodrama/misunderstandings scale.

1. Love You Seven Times
Chinese Drama - 2023, 38 episodes
-
2. Love Between Fairy and Devil
Chinese Drama - 2022, 36 episodes
My first Xianxia and still my favorite easy moderately low angst and enjoyable watch. Almost dropped it because of Esther Yu, but her character truly grew on me.

3. Love Game in Eastern Fantasy
Chinese Drama - 2024, 32 episodes
Ding Yuxi's best acting work so far. A bit flawed in the middle and end, but it was memorable especially with the strong post show marketing. Needed more demon version though. The little theater productions were so cute, I read that they were all from his personal budget to add to the promotion. (Ended up watching Moonlight (2021) again because I missed the cast and the story was good.) So good to see that he's finally getting some recognition.

Didn't think much of the OST but this got stuck in my head after they released it: https://youtu.be/uvjXGGHWq80?si=eoo_-hq6y7vJWN1i

4. The Legend of Shen Li
Chinese Drama - 2024, 39 episodes
A more mature Xianxia, great production and directing. Very satisfying last episode, closest adaptation to the books that I've seen so far. Sticks in my head. Went in blind and loved it.

5. The Starry Love
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
Picked up considerably in the second act and became a strong favorite. I had no idea what it was going to be about and started to get bored at first then the real story happened. Beautiful set design/graphics and feel-good ending.

6. When I Fly Towards You
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
This show ended up spoiling every other youth drama for me. A nice, light watch, no unnecessary conflicts, wholesome and refreshing.
-
7. A Journey to Love
Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes
So badass. Worth watching all the way to the end. Avoided it for a while until I found out about the Liu Dao Tang characters and how awesome they were. Alen Fang's character absolutely stole the show.

8. Perfect and Casual
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
Sweet and light, OST was a strong contributor to the story and enhanced the scenes. I love this show and the soundtrack so much. (YouTube version fails due to the music being removed.)

9. Move to Heaven
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
A wholesome and uplifting tearjerker of a show.
-
10. The King’s Avatar
Chinese Drama - 2019, 40 episodes
Hooked me once the team got together where the gaming sequences had more meaning. Seeing a goofier Yang Yang is also refreshing.

11. Filter
Chinese Drama - 2025, 32 episodes
-
12. Lost Romance
Taiwanese Drama - 2020, 20 episodes
Guilty pleasure. Not top notch quality, but entertaining especially when they made fun of all the cliches in romance novels. This show had the most satisfying return to the real world. Real life family parts are worth skipping though.

13. Nothing but You
Chinese Drama - 2023, 38 episodes
Starts slow but picked up for me once the tennis transition happened. (Ep 10-ish?) // After a rewatch where circumstances in my personal life changed, the first few episodes were strongly relevant to me. Leo Wu looks great without makeup during his outdoor sports scenes.

14. Love Like the Galaxy: Part 1
Chinese Drama - 2022, 27 episodes
(Part 1 & 2) I never expected to laugh so much in this type of show/story. Zhao Lusi's Shaoshang role was perfect and the balance of her deadpan humor, very brief flashes of cute worked out well. Leo Wu's Ling Buyi character is my favorite out of the works I've seen him in.

15. King the Land
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
Pure fluff rom com, no real conflicts. Very good production quality.
-
16. Love Me, Love My Voice
Chinese Drama - 2023, 33 episodes
This is one of those shows that I had to be in the mood for. I wasn't a fan on the first watch, the romance is slow and quiet but pretty natural. This has fabulous food scenes, a bit of tourism promotion (Yangshuo/Guilin) and the fascinating world of voice acting. The VA parts and all the people involved were all fun characters and the production of their shows were spectacular.

17. The Rational Life
Chinese Drama - 2021, 35 episodes
Qin Lan is so soothing in this show. Strong and practical against the workplace battle. Dylan Wang smiles a LOT here but his younger guy character has a good mature personality. Very different from his LBFAD role.
-
18. The Long Ballad
Chinese Drama - 2021, 49 episodes
Dilraba not being a cutesy character was a strong plus. Liu Yuning and Zhao Lusi had the best characters. Leo Wu's Ashile Sun design is one of my favorites. The animated battle scene cuts got old fast, but the pacing in general felt strong.
