On Repeat

Shows/Movies I can watch over and over again and love it. Some because of the characters, some because of the chemistry, some because of the lovely visuals and some just because I miss the universe within the drama.

one of my favorite pairings, their chemistry is gorgeous and the storyline, the way it mixes the past and the present while incorporating the documentary element makes it a very unique experience and it is very well done. it's just a beautiful drama

The FL and ML compliment each other in a way that I haven't really seen much in cdramas before. She is truly a smart, resourceful person and he is a level headed, strong person who respects her and trusts her. Their partnership truly felt equal, the political conflicts also made senseand was easy to follow. This by no means should be interpreted as "it was simple", it just did a very good job at keeping the romantic storyline and the main plot conflict equally gripping. I wasn't bored for even a second and that says a lot for me.

the chemistry is too good, the script is also a more mature one that didn't shy away from more serious topics in relationships and families that do exist in todays society, especially in korea. It actually reminded me of older korean movies that wasn't too bothered with presenting an ideal world but rather showed the flaws in society.

I love the portrayal of a toxic relationship, and really liked how it wasn't afraid to show a more mature side to relationships as this does exist in real life. Most kdramas idealize and purify so much of the relationships that it just doesn't feel real to me, but this show made me think that somewhere, people like this do exist and have these kinds of experiences. Also i can never say no to pretty people on my screen.

This is one of the few cdramas that got me more into cdramas in general so I sometimes rewatch it for the nostalgia. I also just liked the technical aspects of the show, it didn't really bore me. I also really really liked the FL a lot.

  • Tempest

    18. Tempest

    Korean Drama - 2025, 9 episodes

I haven't rewatched it yet as it is a pretty recent drama, however I adore a truly strong FL and a ML who genuinely compliments her character. The leads chemistry was incredible and even though this was a more policitally driven drama the romance aspect was very well done and didn't overpower the story at all. If anything it added a wonderful flavor to an already great script.
