Revenge with Strong Female
Shows I've enjoyed because they have a very strong FL at the center. These have high re-watch value because they are so rich and nuanced, you need more than viewing to catch subtle details.

- Fantastic acting, in some cases master class level.
- Female lead is center and imperfect. She learns from her mistakes and develops.
- Gorgeous costume design.
- Rich texture in storytelling with complex plot and characters develop.
- Fantastic OST

Chinese Drama - 2025, 36 episodes
- Strong acting, especially Zhou Ye as the FL.
- Female lead is mostly center and provides interesting conversation on gender roles.
- Gorgeous costume design.
- Strong storytelling with good development. It does seem to go a bit too long.
- Excellent OST

4. Coroner's Diary
Chinese Drama - 2025, 38 episodes
- Good acting generally, especially Landy Li as the FL. I did not find Ao Rui Peng to have comparable screen presence to her. So the pairing falls a bit flat. However, the support actors are very good.
- Female lead is mostly center and provides interesting conversation on gender roles. However, she starts strong, but then is reduced to cliché by needing to be rescued and sudden inability to use her own mind and skills to rescue herself.
- ML is weak to the point of cliché. One minute he's distrustful, next he's all behind the FL. A lot of lazy character design and no character development at all.
- Beautiful costume design. As well as great Cinematography, Set Design generally.
- Starts strong but becomes lazy storytelling. The smaller mysteries are better developed and more interesting than the over all plot. There's a general failure to adequately weave the Major plot with the episode development and I think the final reveal of Villain/Antagonist is lessened by the weak execution of the plot. This is definitely a written problem not acting. Serious waste of talent here.
