For the Girls' Girl

A great show that fully understands the position that women faced, and how it took each other to overcome obstacles. All while giving you a lighthearted, cozy satire to make you laugh.

• Encouragement of financial independence for freedom of choice & to escape abuse
• Points out that susceptibility to abuse often begins at home & is hard to break from generation to generation (Lord Xin, Hao Jia)
• Seeing the plight of concubines and the consequences it has for their children
• Heavily touches and gives light to issues I didn't expect like post-partum depression.
• How older women want to keep younger women safe but go about it the wrong way (the nannies/momos)
• Women getting the happy ending they not only deserve but rightfully earned

Negatives:

• If you enjoy awful characters getting their comeuppance then you might get frustrated with the ending

The beginning is very nice, showing how happy the FL is with just her grandma and friends. The director doesn't waste his shots, but sometimes it suffers for it. Like the lack of reaction to a certain character's fate by our FL.

Oh how I wish this was done by the same team that did New Life Begins!

If you plan on watching this, then do so with an uncritical eye and your brain turned off. Otherwise, I genuinely don't recommend.
