1. The Red Sleeve
Korean Drama - 2021, 17 episodes
A bittersweet reality of a love story that has broken me to the end. A well deep dive of the patriarchal system from a woman's perspective, questioning of her role and her independence. Does one being in love disrupts your independence and freedom?

2. Healer
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
This show is everything to me. Both main leads are strong, three dimensional, and well emotionally powerful to make me feel resonated with their motivations and morals. The story is well rounded and story's progression is such a delight and a rollercoaster of emotions. I love it so much.
Min young and Chang Wook's best roles for SURE

3. Because This Is My First Life
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
As a sociologist geek, this is such an amazing representation on marriage and relationships that not a lot of kdramas explore at a greater depth. All couples had equal screen time showcasing their difficulties / hardships in society. Rushed Ending but this series put a lot of heart and richness into its themes.

4. Twinkling Watermelon
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
Really good script, great characters, interesting storyline with an effective ending.
I don't think the romance was necessarily important but was important was how friendships was built and the themes blend together of what makes this drama flowy and surreal. Of course, there were problems with the time travel stuff - especially how the ending was handled but how the themes and characters were written from start to finish was beautifully crafted.

5. Undercover High School
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
Oh this show was such a surprise, the comedic timing, the serious moments, the laughable moments, the sad moments. It does it RIGHT on a balanced level without taking it too serious (despite the genre being action comedy - but nevertheless this had flavour and substance). And talk about the romance being less focused and a sub plot rather than a main plot THANK GOODNESS - but i wished we had more moments with them :(
However, it was too short. Not a lot of things wasn't explored to a much greater much depth if i had to be objective here ( for example : the characterisation of the Myeong Ju and Sua - such likeable characters but needs more punch of that substance to make them more standout - as well as Haeseong but his character arc was shown quite consistently). So 16 episodes for this was a MUST. But I love this show, the characters are likeable, funny, stupid at times but that's the sake of the drama's genre (so I don't mind)
This is a show to enjoy the process and not taking it seriously <3

6. My Sweet Mobster
Korean Drama - 2024, 16 episodes
This one surprised me the most.
The character interactions between the cast was such a delight and I had a great flippin time. The plot is pretty simple but it has continuous layers, I wished they explored more on Bulldog Gang and Ji Hwan - especially his interactions his father. In which, The final pay off could've been more emotional and impactful. Very consistent and paced till ep14 but honestly, this is was good journey nevertheless. Moments between Jihwan and Eunha was so natural and sweet <3
