  • Young Blood

    101. Young Blood

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 42 episodes

    5.0

This has the potential to be something good (for me at least) but it contains things that annoy me.  Childlike/ish adults,  situations and actions that contain absolutely no logic and comedy that lacks intelligence...sigh.  I did enjoy the banter between the first two male leads and wish that could have been the benchmark for all the other characters that the writers failed at making funny.

Because of the high reviews, I did try skipping episodes to see if it was less all the things I hate...nope.

No stars off for acting, they did their jobs well.

  • Marry Me

    102. Marry Me

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 35 episodes

    5.0

This just isn't my type of humour, I prefer it to be intelligent rather than childish.  Acting is fine.

  • Love Never Fails

    103. Love Never Fails

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 40 episodes

    8.0

There's not really anything wrong with this...it's just a bit simple for me.  There isn't any depth to the writing in general, so the characters are kind of flat.  It feels like it was written by a kid that has read a lot, but not experienced much.

    The acting is fine.

  • Love in Pavilion

    104. Love in Pavilion

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 36 episodes

    3.5

According to ratings, this thing is a hit with almost everyone but me.  For me, the dubbing is crap and the writing is immature leaving the characters with absolutely no depth.  When the characters have no depth, the story doesn't stand a chance.

  • Destiny

    105. Destiny

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes

    5.0

Super tropey and feels like a story written by a 12 year old.

  • Wonderland of Love

    106. Wonderland of Love

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 40 episodes

    7.0

I watched this up to episode 9, I can't do it anymore.  Although there is a lot going on, it doesn't have the depth to keep me watching.  The leads as a couple...meh.  I would have written the FL's character differently, not any less capable, but less what ever it is that is annoying the piss out of me.

The casting and acting are great, but that's all I can give it.  The younger crowd and those less demanding will love this...they do love this, as the ratings show.

  • For Eagle Brothers

    107. For Eagle Brothers

    Korean Drama - 2025, 54 episodes

    5.0

Oh, I so wanted to like this, BUT I just can't do it anymore.  SO many annoying characters...the FL's mother, gah, what a hag...the hairdresser, the whiny ass stalker daughter of the slimy brewery owner,  the slimy brewery owner, the slimy brewer owner's slimy wife...Any time any of them had a scene I was on the FFWD faster than the mind boggling speed of a toddler with a sharpie.

It had so much potential!  Intelligent humour is NOT THAT HARD.  Why do so many writers/producers treat it like the plague???

I loved the leads and the bond between the brothers...

  • L.O.R.D. Critical World

    108. L.O.R.D. Critical World

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 48 episodes

    5.0

This had a mountain of potential, but I found the writing to be very jarring with abrupt stops and starts of intelligence and a logical path.   In some instances the CGI is quite good, it others it's blindingly painful to watch.

The casting and acting were fine.

My expectations from a production of ridiculously high, if you are just looking for a 'period' fantasy but are more accepting and forgiving than I, then you will probably like this.

  • Divine Destiny

    109. Divine Destiny

    Chinese Drama - 2023, 36 episodes

    5.0

Well, I made it to episode 9 before my endurance succumbed  to a grisly death.   The story really did have the potential to be something good but the writing is juvenile and the dubbing is atrocious.  The actors did their part considering the crap they had to deal with.

If you're just looking for something fluffy, you'll enjoy this.

  • White Cat Legend

    110. White Cat Legend

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 36 episodes

    6.0

It's not awful per se, but it is a too slap sticky for me.  I prefer intelligent humour rather than bumbling idiots.   The rest of the writing isn't overly intelligent, but it would be watchable and enjoyable if the entire series was written as such.

If you're looking for something fluffy with minimal depth, you'll probably enjoy this.

  • Heart of Stone

    111. Heart of Stone

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes

    1.0

Yeh, no...hard no.  It feels like one of those cheap crappo mini series things going around on Facebook...The writing isn't at all intelligent and the tropes are obnoxiously over the top...which is saying something since I find them all obnoxious anyway.

    Sigh....

  • Wu Xin: The Monster Killer

    112. Wu Xin: The Monster Killer

    Chinese Drama - 2015, 20 episodes

    3.0

The ML was casted and acted quite well, his character was written 'okay'.  The dubbing isn't fantastic and neither is the rest of the writing.  The owner of the estate with the haunted well is a puffed up buffoon...I found the writing to be immature in that I started questioning the logic of behaviours and comments almost immediately...not a good sign.

I only made it through the first episode and had to walk away.  Give it a shot though, it's not awful, it just doesn't meet my personal (and mostly unreasonable) standards.

  • Oh My General

    113. Oh My General

    Chinese Drama - 2017, 60 episodes

    3.0

Ummmmmm....I'm not sure what to say.  The only character that made me laugh was the FL character's grandfather... very well written and acted.  Every other character was decidedly ridiculous...over acted and with very little depth.

  • Time Flies and You Are Here

    114. Time Flies and You Are Here

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 32 episodes

    3.0

The is one on a small list of C-Dramas that got very high ratings that left me incredibly underwhelmed.  With the two lead characters I feel like I'm watching a pair of 4th graders.  This was written for a younger crowd.  I'm old, so my standards are different...that being said, I can't find a time in my existence when I would have found this captivating in any way.

  • Ferryman 3

    115. Ferryman 3

    Chinese Drama - 2016, 13 episodes

    5.0

Ack, I couldn't even make it through the first episode, the constant background music drove me batty.

  • Be Passionately in Love

    116. Be Passionately in Love

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes

    8.0

Hmmm. Well, the writing is pretty good, but I can't get past the stalker vibe of the FL's character.   She wasn't stalking him to get him...but to get to his mom...I'm not sure which is worse.  She's bright an laid back...so this whole 'I'm on a mission for my own purposes' with complete disregard for the ML's character?...There's no logically sound reason for a human to behave this way.  I'm sure it ends well but I couldn't get past this train wreck.

I'm sure everyone else will like it, so give it a go and judge for yourself.

  • Renascence

    117. Renascence

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 36 episodes

    5.0

Ahhhh, it had potential for me up until the actors started speaking.  The writing is bland at best and the dubbing is painfully obvious...nothing against the acting itself, the actors did what they could with what they had.

I couldn't make it through the first episode...sigh

  • Youthful Glory

    118. Youthful Glory

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 30 episodes

    5.0

I tried really hard to get through this but the FL's character annoys the snot out of me...gah...so childish.  Also, way too much filler for my patience.

Casting and actors did their jobs well, doing the best they could with a script written by subpar writers...full stars for them.

The editing was crap.  The scene that annoyed me the most because of this was in episode 19 or 20 when the FL's character is reunited with her father after he 'died' in prison.  She rushes to him and they hug.  They kept cutting back and forth between the shot being from behind her and then to being behind her father's.  From behind her, her arms are were UNDER his, from behind they were OVER his.  To not notice that in editing would be like not knowing your shirt was on fire while you were in it.

  • A Prime Minister's Disguise

    119. A Prime Minister's Disguise

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 24 episodes

    5.0

Not my thing...the humour and writing are a bit immature for my liking.

  • Story of Yanxi Palace

    120. Story of Yanxi Palace

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 70 episodes

    5.0

Half way through the second episode...I can't take anymore of the spoilt spiteful adult children...it's non-stop.  ugh.

  • The Legend of Zu

    121. The Legend of Zu

    Chinese Drama - 2015, 56 episodes

    5.0

Ahhhh, this was cringy right out of the gate.   The voice overs  made it feel like I was watching a 1960's action cartoon, the editing is choppy and delayed and the acting is robotic..in the actor's defence, the crap voice overs are probably  influencing my overall impression.

  • Feud

    122. Feud

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 32 episodes

    5.0

Cringy voice overs, CGI, tropes and over-the-top comedic buffooning all in the first 5 minutes. It has a rating of  9.8 on iQIYI so I'm part of a very tiny minority that can't do it.
