  • Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha

    6. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha

Perfect for fans of light, lovey-dovey series. With a male lead who’s nothing but green flags, this drama will leave you swooning and wanting more.

  • Cheer Up

    7. Cheer Up

A truly cheerful (see what I did there) youth drama about the hardworking students of Yeonhee University, discovering pride, friendship, and joy through cheerleading.

Expect sweet, innocent romance mixed with moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

  • My Name

    8. My Name

    Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes

    10

If you’re into revenge stories and darker-themed dramas, this is my pick for you.

It’s also on the shorter side, which makes it a great choice if you’re not quite used to the classic 16-episode format yet.

  • Sweet Home

    9. Sweet Home

    Korean Drama - 2020, 10 episodes

    10

If you’re looking for a drama about monsters and humans in an apocalyptic world, "Sweet Home" is the one to watch.

With stunning CGI and a gripping story, it’ll leave you craving for more.

  • Happiness

    10. Happiness

    Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes

    10

If monsters aren’t your thing, maybe zombies are!

This series is set in an apartment complex where residents must survive and avoid the mysterious disease spreading throughout the city.

  • Train to Busan

    11. Train to Busan

    Korean Movie - 2016

    9.0

Now we’ve reached the movies section!

"Train to Busan" is an intense zombie thriller set entirely on a speeding train bound for Busan. With the characters trapped on a moving train and racing toward a supposed safe haven, you can imagine—what could possibly go wrong?

  • Parasite

    12. Parasite

    Korean Movie - 2019

    10

If you haven’t watched this yet, seriously—go for it! It’s the first Korean movie, and first non-English film, to win an Oscar. Totally deserved!!

The plot dives into the tension between rich and poor, revealing how each class views the other and what happens when their lives intersect. Packed with symbolism, dark motives, and unexpected twists, this film will leave you thinking long after the credits roll.

  • The Call

    13. The Call

    Korean Movie - 2020

    10

"The Call" is a gripping thriller for anyone fascinated by the idea of changing the past to shape a better future—or having a conversation with someone from the past.

Dark, suspenseful, and full of twists, this movie will leave you shocked and questioning how you would react if you received a mysterious call from the past.

  • A Christmas Carol

    14. A Christmas Carol

    Korean Movie - 2022

    10

Warning: This movie is intense and emotionally scarring.

It’s one of the most disturbing films I’ve ever seen, tackling deeply hurtful topics such as SA, abuse, and autism. Don’t let the title fool you—I certainly was once fooled.

On a brighter note, this is arguably Park Jinyoung’s best performance. He masterfully portrays two twins with completely different personalities, making you almost forget that the same actor plays both roles.

  • Swing Kids

    15. Swing Kids

    Korean Movie - 2018

    9.5

To finish up the list, here’s a bittersweet movie about… tap dancing, yes, you read that right.

Set during the Korean War in a prison camp for North Korean and Chinese soldiers, it tells the story of a North Korean who falls in love with tap dancing, learning it from the enemy, and facing the consequences from both sides.

Beautifully written and gorgeously shot, the cinematography will leave you captivated <3
