C-dramas that truly deliver from start to end

Political intrigue, 3D chess, compelling, charming, pulls you in like a spell, icy cool perfection

From the very first episode I knew I was doomed for this became my standard for historical romance with fantasy! The director knew precisely what he was doing in every tiny detail of every shot and dialogue. The pauses, the cg, the looks exchanged... My heart was swooning for this is how I imagine romance when I read novels or mangas/manhuas/manhwas or from a gameplay. THIS is the feeling! Director gave life to my imagination.

Enemy state spouses, organic love story, from plotting against to plotting together, from keeping secrets to sharing them, gradually fall in love and form a family, believably red ML who learns to let go of his revenge against wifey's family, cute couples' squabbles that will make you believe they are an old couple haha

Ongoing, but can already tell from the cinematography, it is epic. Logical, strong world building, connection with all main and side characters is well established. Baby sister as their "first child" troupe which always has my heart swoon.

Strangely addictive! The shamelessness has my heart HAHAHA. Easily one of the best in the genre. It truly feels like "live-action" of the manhua/anime. Love it when the characters deliberately make odd choices, it pleasantly surprised me all the way :)  (Wang Ye and Baobao have my heart <3)

Tastefully done unrequited to requited love, the sizzling chemistry, hot couple with realistic modern problems, fluff, manly, characters with flaws, nuanced. Many rewatchable scenes

Adults' slice of life romance set in urban China, thoughtful, cautious, continuous, honest doubts in leads' minds, slow burn in right direction, attractive, logical, handsome and beauty each with a good brain. 

"Circumstances shouldn't define happiness." Comforting, homey, hopeful despite challenges, positive attitude of characters even after setback tells us why they are main leads. The secondary characters are charming too. A 100% green ML through and through.

Though not a 10/10, the reason for to be in my list is the direction, editing, fast paced story with minimal fillers, good use of pauses, excellent for low budget mini, relatively new concept
