Favorite Characters
Sometimes it's not the main characters that steal your heart. Here's the list of my most favorite characters in drama and movies, MC or not.
-
Lee Bong Ryun
South Korean
Yeo Hwa Jeong in Hometown Cha-cha-cha is the epitome of strong woman, good single mother and definitely a girl-crush material.
-
Lee Soo Kyung
South Korean
She might be a little sassy and sly, but Kang Ho Gyung in Ho Goo's Love is smart, quick witted, and caring.
-
Gong Seung Yeon
South Korean
Probably because she can read people's past, Min Si Ho in Bulgasal is wise beyond her age. Her mild temperament and cautious action are really soothing amidst the complexity of the drama.
-
Lee Joon
South Korean
Here's for the acting! I thought of him as this weird kid (turns out we both are 88 kids) that frequently guested Running Man, too quiet and easily panicked. God knows he is such an amazing actor. His presence in Bulgasal makes the drama worth watching. His character delivery is legendary.
-
Kim Sung Kyu
South Korean
Young Shin was supposed to be one of the two main characters in the novel, but Kingdom reduced his role into supporting. Nevertheless, the quiet, capable and loyal man is still a scene stealer in the drama.

IU
South Korean
I only watched My Mister and Hotel del Luna, but I like her characters in both drama. She can deliver two different personalities perfectly. Lee Ji An has this cool air surrounding her, and is a very effective character. Her character development is one to watch. Jang Man Wol is childish, greedy and selfish -- with hints of a painful past -- but IU's performance is top notch and entertaining.
-
Lee Sun Kyun
South Korean
My Mister would be incomplete without the mister itself. Park Dong Hoon is warm-hearted, caring and reliable person you wish you had in your life. The interaction between the two main characters is what makes this drama outstanding.
-
Bae Doo Na
South Korean
This might be a little biased since I am a fan of Bae Doo Na. But whatever characters she played -- be it on Stranger, Kingdom, The Silent Sea or Sense 8 -- I just love them all.
-
Lee Sung Min
South Korean
Oh Sang Shik in Misaeng is a crazy dog, street-smart, responsible, a good mentor, and hilarious at the same time.
-
Yoon Se Ah
South Korean
One thing about Noh Seung Hye in SKY Castle: Don't wake a sleeping tiger, especially when she's a mom.
-
Lee Jung Eun
South Korean
Kang Pil Goo in When The Camellia Blooms once said: Jo Jung Sook is the smartest in the family.
-
Lee Dong Hwi
South Korean
Ryu Dong Ryong is the glue of the pack in Reply 1988. His presence is blessed with laughter. As goofy as he might be, he's always ready to give good advice.
