Chinese Filmed Vertically Web Short Series Completed

I came here for Zhang Beixi, but he only had about 10 minutes total in this series. This is not a romance. And NO kisses. Blasphemy for me, lol!
This whole series is based on people misunderstanding the fl's and her sister's identities. With lots of slaps to the sister and lots of slapping done to others by the FL. It really got old. I normally don't fast forward, but did a lot here. Mainly because I was hoping for more with ZBX. Yes, the FL is a strong and self-made woman and her sister is a smart business woman (although she was conned by her fiance). Not my cuppa.

Great chemistry with this couple. I really like Ma Le Jie and have watched her several times. I loved how the ML was such a love puppy! It'd be definitely hard to resist him. I'll have to check out more of Xie Hong Xin's dramas. Hardly any angst here, but lots of sweet moments. However, like most of these that start off strong on the skinship in the opening, it fades until you're left with press kisses at the end,lol. Still, overall smiles.

So, I had to wait a day before commenting on this one. First, I love watching Zhang Beixi. I also really like, and have watched, Chai Hui Xin.
This is a distressing one to watch for almost the entire series.
I think that group of 6, plus the 2 relatives, just might be the most vicious and psychologically unstable group of villians I've seen.
I kept wanting the FL to take different actions, but then I'd tell myself to remember that the character had been so traumatized and mentally condition that how she responded was how she survived.
I loved that he loved her to obsession, because he was there for her in the end regardless of what had happened to her.
I loved how people told her it wasn't her fault. I loved the message given to victims that they can stand up and especially that it's not their fault.
But, it was a hard watch.

This content has off screen gang rape by 3 guys while 3 girls, who had already tortured and maimed the Fl, watch and record. They all laughed.

It was fast and furious, lol, since it's so short. Only kiss was to the forehead. Like watching same 2.5 hour plot on speed track.

Ok, so this one was a bit underwhelming. I really wanted to see the crazy girl get way more karma for her actions. This really is not a romance series in my opinion. It did, somewhat, depict the FL's trauma from her being assaulted.

It was pretty cute. Smart and sassy FL. Loved her character! I kinda felt like Liu Qing was wasted here as he's phenomenal and a great kisser, lol! Sadly, no kisses here. Great revenge was had on all. ;)

I'm so glad Wang Yun Yun aka Caicai Yun, has a MDL page now. The ML was so aggravating. Loved the strong, smart, kind FL. I loved the 2ml. Loved the ML's mom and sister and how supportive they were of the Fl. I'm not sure the ml suffered enough before forgiveness. One hot kiss near the near that didn't get regulated out. Had to rewind that one, lol! Even with that, the chemistry was kinda meh for the duration.

This is one of those that has ironic symbolism scattered throughout. It's also sort of a reverse plot from the ML being the crazy one while the FL is the gentle I-want-to-escape-from-you one. It really wasn't a romance for me. The FL was a self centered and arrogant thinking she could do whatever she wanted and the ML would always be there simply because he was so in love with her. The ML made a mostly clean break from the FL when he decided to divorce due to her infidelity. Then the FL went all crazypants trying to get him back. I may need therapy after watching this. And I like Zhang Bei Xi, but not so much in this one. At least I can check this one off my "Watch All of Zhang Bei Xi's Dramas" list. I have a lot of Watch All of's, lol.

While I enjoy these two together, this was a little tame. I wish the director would let Yang Mie Mie be more expressive. Her characters are too often so robotic. I've seen her so much more lively and natural in off screen clips of these two. I liked how , even though jealous of each other, their misunderstandings were quickly resolved. There must be episodes or chunks edired out, because I didn't understand several characters and what happened. So, questions were still unanswered. I liked that the FL was strong and determined to get her love. I did get a few kiss scenes. ?

How far would you go for revenge? I can't help but wonder how her sister would feel about the FL sacrificing herself, giving up part of her soul, her dignity. The whole Lu family was severely messed up. If one is reared in that environment, how can one overcome that heritage? Not without tons of help. That being said, both of these actors can smoke up the screen with the right script. It's smoking in this one, even if the ML is aggressive and demeaning. Both played their role well. It's not everyone's cuppa, but I find myself asking more questions about human behavior in series like this. That may not be the intent of the screenwriter or director, but that's beside the point. It's what we, as the viewer, choose to take away. And, I did see some pretty impressive kisses, lol. ;)
I love a good kiss scene....

It was cute even with it being choppy because of cut scenes or episodes. A couple of forced kisses and several fake ones. Both these leads have great smiles. The kids were adorable, as most kids are. Nothing really new in this one, but no angst and nice end. ;)

I loved the trust between the leads. Hardly any angst in this one even with the antics of the villains. Sweet romance, ok chemistry, but I didn't find the steamy kiss the tag implied, lol. Yeah, if you read my posts, you know I love a good kiss scene. Lol. I'll own that ;) I think I'm close to having watched about 75% of all the ones with that tag. Yes, it's a personal watch challenge ;)

Super sweet crush and decent kisses. ;) I liked how the ml encouraged the fl and how their love and relationship unfolds.

Qian Zhe did aggressive, lurking walk very well, lol. Mostly a sweet romance once initial misunderstanding was resolved. First time to watch Peng Dai Dai. I liked her sometimes perkiness. A few good kisses. Really liked the chair kiss, wink wink. Did smile at the number of times ML said he would protect the FL AFTER something happened. But, you know the scripts like this often rinse and repeat ;). Liked his parents. Mom so cute in wanting FL for her daughter-in-law.

This version was edited down a lot from 99 episodes to 1h 13m. Could have been better. Most kisses were forced and looked awkward to me. Seems like a lot of the love scenes were edited out. So far, I'd have to say this is my least favorite of all the versions. Both the ML and FL seemed stiff as well. Maybe a full version would have been better.

Ok, so you raise a child for TWENTY years only to find out that child is not your biological child. You find your lost biological child and suddenly the first child becomes the devil. Lol. Like, can't you remember your love for your child or all the good memories. Seen this plot line multiple times. Glad the baddies got some karma. Glad to see smokin' chemistry, especially in first parts of series, and ON FIRE kisses. Really love this actress and he's nice to look at ;)

If you've watched a lot of these web series, you know similar plots are recycled. I rated higher because of the on fire chemistry and his kisses. Of course, the ML was really emotionally messed up and took out revenge while hating himself for loving her. The fl was more passive that I like my FLs to be. I was on the fence on whether or not she should stay with him. But, the whole series kept my interest with the emotional tension it made me feel. They all needed therapy. (I probably do as well, lol)

This one was a very dry romance for me. Mostly, I found it boring. I didn't think the leads had much chemistry.

Great chemistry between these two when paired together. They also seem to be comfortable and friendly with each other as that comes through in some scenes. Karma for the evil mistress. Great kisses for our leads! Both can kiss up a storm if the script allows! ;)

This is a drama, not a romance.

 I gotta take a day to think about what to say here. I'm too emotionally perturbed right now....

Ok.. I love Shen Hao Nan, but really hate his character here. So, guess he still did a good job, lol! The ML was as emotionally disturbed and crazy as his dad. His karma was just. I really hated his assistant for what he could have prevented by speaking up earlier.
The Fl should never have made a deal with the devil to begin with. I get she was desperate. But, at some point she should have thought about what would happen when (not if, but when) it would all come to light. The FL confused her emotions, but also denied the truth for too long. Her bratty sister needed some slapping.
So, the ML destroyed so many lives because he was lied to but he never fully investigated what happened. The FL should never have walked away sooner.
This was so depressing. But, I'll probably remember it because it gave me such strong emotions.

So cute! It was really fun to watch with all the interactions and expressions of the family when reacting to her thoughts. Only press lips near the end. Of course, several unanswered questions on how she changed bodies and why and where did she come from, but verticals are like that. :) I rated so high because it made me smile a lot. :)

First time watching the leads in a vertical short. Zhong Chen Yao looks like she could be a candidate for an immortal character.
This is a story about twins, the unjust death of one of the twins, and how her sister takes revenge on those who drove the one to suicide.
Throw in the pseudo CEO ML who's looking to take back his company and you get a MC. There's lots of questions raised about different things because it seems the script is lacking. It's also about people standing up for what's right. It's about standing up to the bully. Overall, pretty good revenge on the villains.
BTW, the chemistry/romance of the MC was kinda meh... There may have been a kiss. For me, that's a total let down, lol!

I can watch Shen Hao Nan in anything. I thought he'd make my computer explode from watching Your Trap. He's intense here, but willing to sacrifice himself and anyone else for her. I felt on the fence between both characters for most of the series. Both had pros and cons. It was easier to see him loving her, even though obsessive, than to see her having feelings for him. I may have liked His Lover is Difficult to Coax a bit better even though I rated the same. But, that's my bias for Shen Hao Nan. ;) Not a whole lot for kiss scenes in this one for me. A total waste, cause that man can kiss, lol!

What a hot mess at times, lol! Loved watching Ma Xia Yo and Ke Chun. I loved her platform shoes!!

This is actually a filmed vertically web series. The premise is the fl has a slave contact for 5 years with the ml in exchange for her family's protection after having fallen from a noble military clan into ruin. The story begins 3 years into the contract and the back story, with all the intrigue and mystery, gradually come to light. The ml is physically and mentally abusive to the fl because of a misunderstanding. Eventually, he find out the truth. Meanwhile, there's two concubines to deal with and their military families. Not going to disclose more. I like Jiao Pei Kai, but didn't like him in this character. And, no kisses except at near the end with one to the forehead. Ml was ruthless, but that's also part of that time frame.

I enjoy watching Huang Bo, but this was a bit tame. I thought there'd be more tension and stonger chemistry with the potential of dual personalities. The character that had the most screen time was the colder CEO and the bad boy vibes of the other personality had the better tension, but could have been more. Makes me wonder if some of the new regulations on what's appropriate have kicked in on this one. Not much on kisses here because it causes the switch. Decent, but short, ending.

Loved the leads together. A couple of nice kisses. Loved how protective the ML was of the FL. Loved how the FL took back herself once she realized what a scumbag her boyfriend and his mother were.

It was fun and made me laugh. Loved the character dynamics.

Great chemistry between the leads. On fire tension
with several kiss scenes ;). Loved when he told her how to place his mole! And the table kiss scene. It's like "I waited 7 years and now I want to ravish you!" Lol. From both of them. Sweet love story with little angst made this relaxing. My first time to watch either leads. Jwells posted the ml name below. If anyone knows the fl, please let me know. I liked her bestie as well.

I really like the pairing of these two. I loved how expressive Mie Mie was in this series. Especially the first half. A lot of her other work has her more one dimensional in character with little variation. Yes, some of it was on the ridiculous side, but still mostly fun to watch. The chemistry wasn't as good here and not much romance. However, I did like, and it was romantic, how he took care of her and cooked for her. Some early scenes were lol with her childlike innocent statements!

My eardrums will never be the same after the 2fl, lol. Cute kids. Wish MC had more screen time. And it was a bit lacking in romance for me.

I guess I've watched some worse than this, because while the ML was "bad", I didn't find him as bad as I thought he would be. He definitely made obsessive look OBSESSIVE. And he was a lunatic for sure. But, it's all about the character and what made him that way. I think the main turning point for the FL was when her dad started to accept the ML, etc. Pretty spicy partial nudity scene to get past the regulators, lol. I wanted a better end, so I rated lower, but that's me.

Did you see the epilogue where they have a cute son who also threatens another little girl to marry him?

FL and ML just goes out of a car and the FL scolds ML for teaching their son bad manners. And ML just smiles and says that was the way he got her to be with him.

Disclaimer: I will rate any Zhang Beixi drama higher just because I love watching him. Since this is a shorter drama, it's not as fully fleshed out as a longer one. That always changes the dynamics for me. Nothing new on the story plot here if you've watched a lot of these. Zhang Beixi is great at tall, brooding and sexy. And he can kiss like fire. You know I love a good kiss scene! Fl was well suited to her role and has a beautiful smile.

Wang Zi Yi made crazy look crazy here. The ML does have a soft side, at times, for the FL, but I didn't like how he treated her when he was supposed to be falling for her. I think the FL should have gone for the 2ml, lol.

Smart FL and darkly handsome ML. Good starting points for me. ;) A few good kisses and a decent end, although somewhat rushed, lol. Baddies got some karma and that's always good for me.

Sweet romance.  

Sedate romance but lots of cute moments with the leads, especially the fl. Loved how she got the upper hand with the court ladies. Loved how the ml thought she was so cute going about her “stealth” activities. It was a bit different than most vertical historical dramas I've seen, so that was refreshing. Overall, enjoyable watch. Only 1 kiss scene near the end. Well, except for a brief forehead kiss about ¾ of the way. I wanted a bit stronger end for the leads.

This should also have a tag for evil mother. Didn't expect the plot twist with her, so that made this drama somewhat unique. Decent chemistry between the leads. A few kisses. Part of that was a little bittersweet for me since there's misunderstanding between them when most of that occurs. I loved his assistant and his lines! Like when the ml realized his assistant had her Wechat and she made him breakfast. There's steamy kiss at the beginning for sure, but also forced. Just FYI for those who wish to know.

Pretty intense ;)

This may be my favorite drama of Chen Si yet. He was super sweet, supportive and killed me with those hidden smiles highlighting how he felt about the FL. She was mostly smart and sassy, but shadowed by her past. Loved the height difference between the two. As often happens in these verticals when there's a one-night stand and pregnancy at the beginning, not much occurs later with kisses of any sort. There are a couple, but not sure this one truly qualified for "steamy kiss". More like the "high potential and almost steamy kiss". Too bad there's no tag for that, lol!

I liked this for the leads. I thought the characters were mostly fun and a bit interesting to watch. A few scenes with good chemistry. A few kisses, ;). I didn't like the opening of this series where there's a drugged scene with MC. The end was abrupt, but cute. That may have been influenced by the shortened length that was posted vs actual length. This may be the first female assassin series I watched. I would have liked to have seen more of that side of the Fl. Loved the brothers.

Loved the grandmother. She's a little fairy compared to Zhang Bei Xi's height. Wang Qian Hui as the Fl had those big eyes of innocence that slayed the ML, With the new regulations, Zhang Bei Xi doesn't have the better edge to the kiss scenes that earlier works do, but I still like to watch him and love his voice. Ml was in love from first real sight of fl. Yeah, the story isn't anything special, but I love the way they look at one another, lol!

I liked watching Liu Qing. Liked a strong fl with Lin Rui Xue. It needed a better ending. Or, maybe there were scenes that were deleted that made the ending incomplete. It left more questions than answers. And, I didn't even get a kiss scene, lol! Kinda bummed on that, lol! I did like a somewhat different plot that had potential. And, decent plot twist at the end.

Mostly a cute little romance between the leads with the FL being somewhat naive and innocent and also pragmatic, but shy about having been intimate with the ML. And the ML being in steady pursuit of his first love. Loved the interaction with ML's mom where they are think talking to each other and he doesn't want his mom to scare the FL off. Loved the protective side of FL's older brother. Some of the episodes are out of sequence in the last 30 minutes, so you have to jump your mind around. But, if you have watched a lot of these, that does happen from time to time. Some translations may be off, as it was confusing at times as to what was actually being said.
Lin Yong Ju, to me, has a very flirty, come-hither look about him that I find fun to watch. I haven't watch Si Yi much and, even though her character was a bit annoying in her baby girl persona, I thought she did a good job of portraying that baby girl bundle of emotions. A little spicy scene at the beginning, but nothing too crazy. Mostly, limited lip action, lol.

Well, ok then. Liked how the ML became protective of the Fl even though he realized she had ulterior motives. Got to say the scene where he kisses her back was short but a powerful image. Glad the bad people received karma and a satisfying end. Decent chemistry ;)

I liked how the FL got her revenge. Liked how the ML loved her. Wish romance had been stronger.

The twist for this recycled plot is the sister of the FL. Loved that their relationship was so good. I don't recall seeing that from any of the others like this plot. I enjoyed that. Cute baby! Normally, you don't see a baby that young featured so prominently in one of these dramas. And, how attentive the ML is. Some of it may be related to newer regulations requiring more positive roles instead of the villain characters typically seen. Nice chemistry between leads, not on fire to me, but still good. A few steamy scenes, but not over the top. Liang Si Wei does shirtless well. ;)

I like all three of these actors. I thought the FL was smart, strong, uber calm and a bit wooden. 2fl is often the fl. She was a okish villain, even if a bit dumb. Wish the ml had been given more kiss scenes, lol. Loved the ml's mom and her support for the fl and her parents. Glad karma served to those with ill intent. Glad I got the ending I like. Liked that the mc was supportive and trusting of each other.

I like both leads, so that was the primary reason for watching. It's interesting to see how these short series have evolved in even the last year. This one was a bit disjointed and meh. Chemistry was ok, but I've seen them both have much better. Maybe because this is an older one? Still, they are both pretty to look at, lol! Not much on kisses here.

Nice visual with the MC. This one doesn't add anything new from the other dramas with the same plot. It's the same script. However, still nice to see cute interactions with the leads and good chemistry. Kisses were nice, too ;) So, check this one off my steamy kiss tag list! ;)

Holy smokin' kisses! They were on fire together! First time watching her. Loved Zeng Hui's portrayal of domineering, aggressive, possessive and in love ML. Hate it for the "brother", but you snooze you lose, lol. Plus, he'll get the girl in another drama for sure. :)

Yep, it's one crazy ? series! It was so all over the place, it took me a bit to realize the double character of the ml. Pretty spicy intimacy a few times. A lot more of it made sense after the ending.

Gotta say I rated higher because of the chemistry and smokin' kisses. Ml made me somewhat uncomfortable with his manipulation and stunned emotional approach. On the one hand, he's like. I found you and you promised to married me. Then, he sets her up to be with him. Of course, she's emotionally stiff and untrusting because of her profession and cheating fiance. 

I'll put some ranting spoilers below.

At the beginning, you think he's been looking for and waiting for the FL. No. Later on the crazy ex-girlfriend comes back and you find out the ml would have still been with her if she hadn't left him. They had been together 4 years. That put a dent in watching the mc for me. The fl kep asking the ml if he liked her. He always made it sound like it was just the sex. Eventually, at the end, after seesaw "breakups", she admits to loving him and he finally admits to liking her. I loved the tension most of the time, but wanted to shake them as well. Ok. Moving on now, lol!

I enjoyed the cooking. Romance was meh for me. I liked the ending. End spoiler below.

It was a HE jumping from sitting at the table with her master to about 6 or 7 years out with 2 kids.

I really like Zhang Beixi, but this wasn't up to his normal level. There's some cuteness at times with him towards her. Too much immaturity on ml's character. No real kisses, but fake ones. That's a shame as ZBX can kiss like fire. ;)

"If you lose the bet, you get one day a week off. If i lose, you get three.". Spicy chemistry and kisses. And ear bites. It was a fun 33 minutes, lol. Loved the sister bond.

OK, as soon as he slapped her, I was "yeah, you need to walk out that door right now, sister". The ML was horrible. A spoiled, entitled bully. His sister was the same. The mother of the ML had some gall asking the FL to give up her life for gratitude. The father of the ML was the only one in that family that called the other three on their bad behaviors.
I rated higher only because I was satisfied by the ending, lol! BUT, worse of all, no kisses.... And you know how I feel about a good kiss scene!

Beautiful costumes. Loved the leads. Some nice kisses with good chemistry. Interesting to see one of these earlier verticals. Hard to believe the FL is about 33 in this. Bumblebee did rock it, lol!

I love his voice. I laughed so hard at the scenes from the charity auction. I would have rated higher, but was left hanging with that ending. Maybe there is supposed to be a season 2? I think Zhen Zi Qi does dark and growly well, lol. Loved how many identities the FL had.

I was happy with the fl's decision to move on.  I don't think that's really a spoiler as the title kinda tells you what to expect, lol. NO kisses. That's a shame. 

This is a series that starts out with the FL being sent into the body of a recently decreased woman to exact revenge on the people who caused her to commit suicide. The FL has the "mission" to help correct the "story" of that particular "world". The ML is her target for true love. Then, there's a major plot twist times 3. Lol. I'm not usually a big fan of these fantasy series, but this was pretty interesting and I liked the twists. I'll put a spoiler below. Good chemistry between the leads. Some nice kisses. (Ok, I'm a fan of some kissing and love scenes.) ;)
Now, with that cliffhanger, on to season 2!!

The FL is from some high tech "system" for lack of a better description. She's sent to correct wrongs, primarily when a woman has been plotted against to the point of suicide. She can only leave when she completes the mission. Her memories of that mission are cleared and she goes on mission again. This series has 3 missions. Each "lifetime" she encounters the ML. So, in some sense, it's like a multiple lifetime series where the leads meet and fall in love again and again. The ending gives me hope for an eventual HE for the MC. I'll be disappointed if S2 doesn't end HEA. LOL!!

I liked the explanation of who she was and the role she was playing in the virtual worlds. That explanation was really lacking in the first season or maybe it was cut from the uploaded video to save data?
Anyway, i enjoyed this series even though it's not exactly my favorite genre. I don't normally care for the multiple deaths involved in multiple lifetimes. Makes me too sad. However, I think these two leads have great chemistry and good kiss scenes ;) lol. I thought the premise of this series was interesting and lots of twists which had me guessing at times as to which way it would go. My only real complaint I'll list as a spoiler.
Overall, I'd recommend both seasons, especially if you like this genre and good kisses;)

For me, I really wanted a much better HE rather than the FL being depressed for who knows how long and then they just meet on a bridge and she smiles. The ml isn't even shown by face. Someone else just shown from the back. Hate when they do that. I want to see both their faces and could I at least get a hug?? Otherwise, enjoyed it.

Not the greatest version of this story, but at least I got a few good kisses, lol!

It's a version of the mistress and daughter drug the real daughter and she accidentally has a one night stand with the ML who was also drugged. This is a flash back. The drama opens with FL being forced into labor so the 2fl can claim the baby as her's and the ML. The mistress and her daughter (2fl) then burn the fl. About 4 or 5 years later, the FL is back for revenge. There's a super cute kid. Usual clichés. I think maybe 1 or 2 sorta press kisses, the rest fake or offsides of the lips.
However, most of the subs are missing. The subs stop about 30 minutes into the series. Interesting enough, the Mango app shows those for free and then the rest of the episodes are paid through that app. While disappointed, I just pretended to be about four and looked at the pretty pictures, lol!

I liked Du Ya Fei without the glasses in this one. It's always interesting to see the difference between wearing and not wearing glasses. Liked the chemistry between the two. Loved the ML's little smiles behind the FL's back. Made him look even cuter. Nice kiss at beginning. A couple more later. I've seen this story line before, so sometimes they overlap in my brain, lol. Nice visuals with this couple. Loved her bestie as well.

This was the first time watching Sun Qian Xun and Wang Nan and it was a fun time! Ok, so lots of ridiculous antics and leaps of non-thinking skills made me laugh and smile throughout the series. I found SQX to be a good comedic actress. Her expressions were great! WN did a good job of setting the stage for her. Only a couple of small kisses in this one. ;) And I thought her hairstyle looked cute on her.

Jiang Wan Xi is the eldest daughter of the Jiang Group and was reared overseas by her mother while her three older brothers lived with the father. She kept her identity secret from her boyfriend who she aided for 4 years before returning home. Enter the plot of someone impersonating her and no one believing the FL that she's really the real daughter. FL gets her revenge. This really should not be marked as a romance. I like this actress. ;) But, other than some cute revenge and watching her, can't say it's worth the time.

Mostly I liked the chemistry of the MC. Great kisses. The secondary people were great at being crazy. Some subtitles were missing or just wrong, but I've seen worse. Some scenes jumped to totally different ones leaving me wondering what happened and some unanswered questions. I loved what happened to the 2ml. I liked the ml's commitment towards the fl. I liked the fl's courage to stand her ground.
