 At first I didnt think that a drama about a woman who has been a widow for 15 years would be appealing to me but this one really stole my heart.

The plot is engaging, fast-paced and you can easily binge it in record time. It offers a refreshing portrayal of a widow in that era, managing to balance the light-hearted with the harsh realities of her situation. The comedy is hilarious and the palace politics are straightforward and not tiring.

The FL is one of the best parts of the drama—smart, chaotic, funny, and an absolute mood. She’s the kind of character you can easily root for.  Similarly, the ML is just as much of my beloved! Their slow burn romance gives you butterflies and I loved them so much together, but they still did me dirty with the lack of skinship—is Korea that scared of a noona romance?! ୧(๑•̀ᗝ•́)૭

I got into  this movie excited cause everyone was hyping it up but I was left disappointed - idk, I expected more. The whole thing was kind of uneventful and the pace of the plot felt slow and rushed at the same time. Like they focused so much on the boring parts and the FL living at the ML's house with everything feeling so slow whilst the action towards the end felt rushed and unsatisfying. 

The premise was really promising and it could EAT had they expanded more on the interesting parts of the story and even make the FL morally grey, cause that would totally cater to my trashfire taste (￣▽￣||)

At first this felt like the best example of a rom-com. It started off as a hilarious, feel-good drama that doesn't take itself seriously with funny, unpredictable jokes. Unfortunately, as the eps progressed, it lost its charm.

The romance certainly didn't deliver. The chemistry between the leads was non-existent, while Kim young dae's lackluster acting made most romantic scenes painful to watch. Shin min ah tried her best to carry their interactions, but it often felt like she was acting alongside a cardboard cutout.
Seemingly, the second lead couple's romance, although promising at first, felt rushed and forced. I especially have a personal vendetta with the SML—just a big manchild and asshole who treated the FL like shit towards the end and I couldn't care less about him after that. His parents were just as annoying may I add -_-

Towards the end the drama fell into an identity crisis, cause they somehow decided to sprinkle in some thriller and melo elements to this overall lighthearted drama. They introduced so many different subplots and serious issues, many of which were left unresolved. For example, idk how everyone in this drama managed to gaslight the FL into thinking that her emotions of neglection were not valid. Maybe if they actually worked more on that arc and gave us some insight behind the mother's reasoning it could have been better.

The characters did have their good moments but honestly in the grand scheme of things all of them were unlikeable. Only secretary Yeo was likeable and deserved more screentime.

LGIEF is the type of drama that requires you to trust the process 

Pros:

• Ep1 is really interesting and instantly ropes you into the story
• The chemistry between the 4 main leads on and off the set
• The beautiful OSTs 
• Ding Yuxi's great performance as the ML
• At first it seems like a silly story but the screenwriter hits you with plot twists and tearjerking moments. 
• The last 6 eps are absolutely captivating 
• Everything comes together and makes sense in the end so I can't really trash this drama xD 

Cons:

• After the first few eps the plot got boring and felt like it wasn't going anywhere - the whole middle of the drama was hard to watch. It does get better later on but a lot of people are gonna end up dropping it (I almost did :/), so they should have made all the eps interesting. 
• The second leads are more like extras or NPCs throughout the drama - they just exist in the background so it's hard to care about the squad as a whole. Thankfully that does change towards the end. 
• I'm not usually taken aback by Esther's cute mannerisms but here she was doing too much.
