China through history

Han Dynasty

Warring States Period

Northern Wei Dynasty (which is a dynasty that overlaps with the Warring States Period)

Tang Dynasty

Tang Dynasty

Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period

Follows the relationship between Goryeo and Khitan during the Liao Dynasty (Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period)

Northern Song Dynasty

Emporer Renzong

This is a funny one because while part of the story does take place in the human realm, the emperor's name is a combination of different empires. I think this is done intentionally so that the human realm can't accurately be placed during any specific dynasty.

Northern Song Dynasty

Yuan Dynasty

ML is from the Ming Dynasty

Qing Dynasty

viki translations use the term "states" here. I tried to find more information by looking up the states, but had a hard time. Please tell me more if you know. I thought maybe there were just noble house everyone is called something like a lord or lady instead of prince or princess, but it also feels very similar to royalty.

Qing Dynasty

Emperor Kangxi

Qing Dynasty

Emperor Qianlong

Qing Dynasty

Emperor Qianglong

Qing Dynasty

Emporer Qianlong

Republic of China (1930s)

During the Cultural Revolution and ends during industrialization

So the intro explains that this takes place in the zongzheng dynasty which... I think isn't an actual dynasty. I know people can guess the general time period off of the costume design but I am not so skilled in that yet.
