The entry on MDL refers to the English release, "Scary True Stories: Ten Haunting Tales from the Japanese Underground", which was distributed in DVD format on November 22, 2005. It includes all 10 stories from the 3 VHS tapes.

This entry corresponds to the (C) section above. Not to be confused with Fuji TV's version, which uses "ほんとに" (Honto ni); this version uses "本当に" (Hontou ni) and was produced by TV Asahi. 38 stories debuted on television in 1992; 14 of them were selected to be re-packaged in the following compilations:

Only (C1) received an English release and was distributed on March 7, 2006 under the name "Curse, Death & Spirit".

This entry corresponds to the (D) section above. Fuji TV's first on-television installment of "Honkowa". This special aired on August 27, 1999 and consisted of 4 stories + 1 opening segment.
