Personal Favourites: Beloved Shows
-
1. A Tale of Thousand Stars
Thai Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
This show has so much heart, I love an ensemble cast and the main characters had a very interesting dynamic. I wasn't very familiar with Thailand shows at the time I watched this for the first time, but I remember staying up all night and taking such comfort from this show.

2. Affair
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
I started watching this blindly one afternoon back when I was still struggling with anxiety and I was in the middle of an attack. I got so involved that the attack didn't escalate that day. There's something so compelling about LMSY on screen, their chemistry is addicting.

3. Familiar Wife
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
✨love me again✨
-
4. Happy Once Again
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Ah, the show that made me fall in love with Jang Nara.
-
5. Healer
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
Healer might be my favourite show of all time, across all countries. When I watched this airing I was 18, preparing for the university exam. Undoubtedly the most stressful year of my life—up to this day— and this show got me through a huge chunk of that time. I remember looking forward to Monday Tuesdays the entire time it was running. I remember sneaking out of the study camp with my friend trying to catch a signal to watch this. Yeongshin's impact on my character formation is unmistakable.

6. I Hear Your Voice
Korean Drama - 2013, 18 episodes
Rollercoaster.

7. It's Okay, That's Love
Korean Drama - 2014, 16 episodes
A cast of deeply flawed characters that fit together and make a family. That's the show. How can I not love this? Also I imprinted on Haesoo at an impressionable young age unfortunately.
-
8. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
Every week this drama hurt me and every week I came back for more, IU is amazing in this role. I remember sobbing my way through nearly every episode. I cannot do that to myself again but coming together with friends to cry together is a fond memory I cherish.

9. Mystic Pop-Up Bar
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
Found family done right, but what stood out for me was the relationship between Wolju and Gwi. The acting touched me deeply.
-
10. Queendom
Thai Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
I watched this at a very stressful time when I couldn't sleep from the stress of my thesis defense on the night before. I binged this as I stayed up all night practicing my slides. It really kept me going. It kept my interest the whole night despite my panic and that tells you a lot about the quality of this show!

11. Summer Strike
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Very soothing, nostalgic and uplifting show, although I wasn't particularly a fan of the direction they took towards the end of the series. I liked the quietness, the stillness, and the soundtrack has seen me through some stressful times.

12. The Loyal Pin: Uncut
Thai Drama - 2024, 16 episodes
The feeling I have for Khun Pin is like a fabric woven from golden and silver thread with exceptionally delicate and exquisite design. I have spent more than half of my life weaving it faithfully and untiringly. and I feel myself inferior to every man in this world. Need I say more.
