My Kryptonite!

I know everyone absolutely loves her (and I've read good PR about her), but I think I got so pounded by the media-hype that surrounded her even before I got into watching Asian dramas, it was enough to turn me off in watching anything she is in.  Yang Yang who is a face-card fav and that I would make a point to watch, has two or three dramas with DD.   So hard-pass... even giving up Yang Yang.

She is only First Listed because she is the first actor that I consciously made a decision not to watch.... and still haven't since the beginning of my foray into Asian Dramaland.

Absolutely cannot stand how he treated his (now former wife) Song Hye Kyo.  Divorce happens. Totally understandable, but how one goes about adult-ing is not what he did.  So, he is off the island. 

This is one of those inexplicable won't-watch selections.  But I can assure you, the feeling is strong enough to keep me from watching Wang Yi Lei, and if you know me even a tiny bit, you know my thoughts on WYL.

My newest addition to the Won't-Watch List.  Whether the latest melon is true or not, his face-card is enough have me hit the back-button.  Seriously, there are those out there who would throw their panties at him.... but me.... let me laugh just a little bit longer and louder. 

I had previously made a comment in Chat as a caveat that I'm sure he is a nice person outside of the original issue.  I officially retract that statement.  No regrets!

He got moved up to the #4 spot due to his behavior. So Super-Hard Pass!

Seriously.... zero, zip, zilch....  clueless as to why the total disinterest.  Just call me a renegade.... I wear that label proudly!

He is another one of those who makes chics swoon and think about doing the horizontal mambo, but not this chica.  I don't click.  Not even curious.  And I don't care what state of dishabille he may be sporting at any given moment.

He isn't a hard-pass, but I can easily zip past any of his dramas, shorts, reels, etc that pop up and not think twice.

I got started on the wrong foot/drama for Zhao Zhen Dong. It was that oh-so-loved drama Young General Your Wife Has Run Away Again. After reading how everyone especially one person in particular gushed on how sexy, etc he is (isn't), I landed on this drama. Seriously? Kidding me? Rated: High Camp, Give Back My Time.

So I dared to lightly joke about my thoughts, proved it with a collage (because that is what I do) and got publicly smacked down for my opinion. But because I'm a highly educated individual, I sought to change my own mind. I tried. I tried at least three, maybe four other dramas. He would be good in other character roles maybe, yeah. But I don't see him being a model (per his profile), and I for sure don't see him as romantic leading man material. He's not sexy and there is zero chemistry in the digital dust.

So there is my reason for not watching ZZD. Love me or not for it... it is what it is. Amen!

So, not a hard-pass but the chemistry is not chemistrying. And there are an inordinate number of other dramas to watch especially with dudes who can supercharge the digital dust !

Not sure how she keeps getting so many roles with top-listed actors but she does. For me, she comes across as a one-note actor.

I think my first drama with her was with Wang Yi Lei, Swing Me To Your Heart. I became so zeroed in on WYL that she kinda grayed-out. That's not a good thing on her part in grabbing on and holding your audience attention. In retrospect, she wasn't a strong enough actor to balance against WYL.

Even so, after watching a few of her dramas, my initial assessment isn't totally incorrect.

With that said, I can bypass her dramas easily and not think twice. Depending on who she is paired with, I might could even forgo the dude and that drama. There are a lot of dramas out there and they are pouring out of production like a deluge!

So Li Ke Yi is another of those that I positively cannot see her in a romantic lead roll. As a character actor.... bring it on!

I've liked her for the most part in the 18-Grandma series. But she was flatter than a crepe in Xiang Yan Hua Yi Yang Can Lan and this featured two of MySkinnyBoyFriends... Wang Yi Lei and Zhang Chi. [Color me excited, until I wasn't.] I thought Yu Yin was adorable and I thought her interaction with WYL and ZC was great. But Li Ke Yi ..... no chemistry with WYL (her CP pairing in the drama) and not there for me either. Of the four character interactions in various permutations, she was the odd-duck out.

So now, I became enamored of an yet to be released drama with Zhang Chi (as of 16 April 2026). Initially, I had no clue as to who was cast for the FL. Once I found out.... out I was! sadness

And based on my totally visual assessment of BTS stills, I don't think the chemistry is chemestrying with Zhang Chi either. I will watch it to hope I'm proven wrong.,,, so in this case, it's truly for science!

Update 22May2026: I couldn't bring myself to watch this lastly mentioned drama with Zhang Chi. I saw too many fan-service clips both promo and BTS to change my mind about the chemistry between the two. If I had to label Zhang Chi.... I would hang a 'I'm Miserable' sign over his head. I have since seen fan-service clips of current productions of ZC with other FL actresses and his attitude and demeanor is totally different. I still stand by position of ZERO chemistry LKY has with any of my boys from MySkinnyBoyFriends List. sad
