The Stories I Never Really Left
This isn't a ranking of the "best" BLs I've watched. Some of these aren't even among my highest-rated series.
These are simply the stories that stayed with me long after I finished them, for very different reasons.
Some moved me. Some frustrated me. Some changed the way I think about storytelling.
Others left behind a single scene, a line of dialogue, or a feeling I still can't quite shake.
The order isn't based on quality or my ratings. It reflects how strongly each story has stayed with me over time. Newer series naturally feel more immediate, but every title on this list has managed to remain with me long after the credits rolled.
If a series appears here, it means it left a mark. Not necessarily that it was perfect.

1. Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo
Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
A story about forgiveness, grief, and finding each other again. Quiet, patient, and emotionally devastating.
-

Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
One of the most emotionally honest portrayals of falling in love I've come across in BL.
-
3. Spare Me Your Mercy
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
Proof that morality can be just as compelling as romance. It stayed because it never offered easy answers.
-

Chinese Drama - 2025, 7 episodes
Cinema disguised as a BL. Every frame felt like a memory.

Korean Drama - 2026, 8 episodes
The series that made me realise how powerful silence can be when two characters truly understand each other.
-
6. The Prosecutor's Proposal
Korean Drama - 2026, 10 episodes
An adult crime drama first, a BL second—and all the better for it.
-

Thai Drama - 2026, 6 episodes
Technically stronger than many of my favourites, and one that still lingers because of the questions it asks.

Korean Drama - 2023, 7 episodes
Messy emotions, quiet healing, and two boys learning that being understood can be enough.

A reminder that chemistry doesn't always depend on physical intimacy.

Gentle enough to feel like a wish whispered into the night.

One scene. Two best friends. A private photo exhibition. That's all it took for this story to stay with me.
-

Competitive flirting disguised as a rivalry.
-

Thai Drama - 2025, 10 episodes
Proof that emotional exhaustion can be portrayed with remarkable intimacy.
-
21. Love Sea
Thai Drama - 2024, 10 episodes
Far from flawless, but FortPeat's chemistry still lives rent-free in my head.
